Passionate? more like arogant. Passionate is working every weekend around university so you can afford to spend hundreds of quid on tickets to see your team, passionate is played the game in your street since you wer six years old, passionate is flying to the opposite side of the world to see your country kick Argentinas sory ass. Passionate is not downing a game you know nothing about! ok sory if im offending you here but just grow up.

You don't get it. You insult the game of soccer and expect a true fan to still respond to you? You can love football all you want, but you don't have to belittle another sport. I think soccer, or football as it is called across the pond, is one of the most grueling games you can play. Can you run flat out for an hour and a half straight? American football is played in spurts of a few seconds at a time, with substitutions.

You don't have to like soccer, but don't disrespect it. I hate basketball, but I respect the sport.

I don't see any real change change occuring, not while people still think oceans mean anything. America's generally sepratist attitude is like Britain's but on steriods... heh

On a similar note, I've been developing a theory as to America's strained relationship with France - they are alike. Both are restistant to cultural influences for the shear principle of it (only in the abstract tho, nothing like Iran... heh) (some store clerks in France almost refuse to speak English to Americans, Americans just don't learn foreign language in any real way on the whole... heh)

And other various what can be percieved to be in-your-face, somewhat stand offish attitudes... that tend to be more prevalent in America and France then other industrialized countries. Both old Democracies (in as far as modern Democracy goes - not culture), both spoilt brats with extensive individual rights traditions.

That would change with a depression tho. It humbles people from being so self-rightous of any culture. (the bad probably out weighs the good effects tho LOL)

its not just america france doesn't like, English arent that welcome there either .I dont think it went down well in france when we killed Napolean, ruining there chance of an empire and all. And then theres the American revolution thing where they got us out of your country. and the bse thing when the french banned all british beef in there country.

Of course the irony there is that the French King's coffers were bankrupted from foriegn aide... messing up the economy, thus being one of the contributing factors to the French revolution.

EDITED FOR CLARITY: The French King spent so much money in the Americas to hinder the prop up America in order to hinder the English that it was a contributing factor in bankrupting France's economy which was one cause of the French Revolution.
