Maybe the reason why I don't see the point in New Years is that I don't drink.

It seems things differ around where I live then a lot of you. Around here it is usually just friends you see everyday getting together and having a few drinks and seeing the fireworks that maybe nearby or getting together with a few friends and going to Time Square. Usually no family involved or big dinners.

RKL has a point that is overlooked. I too, find that New Years is a non holiday now that I don't drink anymore. I lived in New York City for 35 years (yeah, I'm old...44...as old as my truck) and went to New Years in Times Square once back in the late '70s. Once was enough. Back then, it was a parade of teeny boppers puking everywhere. That's fun? I think not. I was drinking heavily at the time, but was good at it (no puking).

Another joke about New Years, is the resolutions. That's just people lying to themselves. I only kept one resolution I made. About 15 years ago, (still drinking) I resolved to never make another New Years resolution. So far, I've kept it.

Now I turn on the TV with seconds to go, see the ball drop, and go back to whatever I was doing. Like Cantr.

Even though I don't celebrate the day, I still wish everyone a Happy New Year!

My New Year's Eve consisted of me repeatedly thinking, "Why is nobody on Cantr?" Then going, "Oh yeah, it's whatever day." Fell asleep about 10PM. Woke up today wondering how many chars are going to be grumpy and sleepy.

Went to a party last night in a good friend's house. Had some drinks. Got tipsy. Danced like a complete idiot to some good music. Woke up this morning with a pounding headache. Good fun though. :D

I went to a boring organ recital at St. Barts and walked home counting the types of confetti on the sidewalk. Times Square is definitely overrated. I've never been there on New Year's Eve, but judging from the giggling hordes with gaudy "2004" goggles that walked by my building, I don't think it's worth it.

Happy New year a day late!!! hehe

Well, my new year consisted of Frozen mudslide drinks, a whip cream fight, jello shot runs ( very fun...email me if you want the info for your next party..lol) then on midnight i got to watch all the couples kiss and be all in love while I avoided one very annoying, obnoxious admirerer. LOL...yay. *eyes*

As for resolutions, I believe, dont make em unless you're going to keep em...so a resolution not to make another resolution...Great Idea!!!

But, I will tell you this...don't ever wear light pink when people are spraying things around. It clings, and it's see through. then you have to get upheaved...go change, take a HUGE shower because you're all sticky...I think I finally went to sleep around 4am. Can we say hangover?
someone remind me of why ppl drink? *scratches her head* I'm not understanding the concept......*drink....get drunk.....get nauseated......either do something you wouldnt normally do because your inhabitions are extremely low OR pass out....wake up next day with a disgustingly bad ass headache and vow to never drink again**.....why...why?.....LOL

Anyway....Happy New Year! Prayers for love, laughter and blessings in the new year to come!
