Some beautiful picks there, Sunni. I hope you're having a great time. I've heard from people that it's great to visit Hawaii but living there isn't that great.

The waves in these pitures were 8-12 feet high...I sat there for almost 2 hours..It was so awesome to watch the water just rise up then curl into a wave...

Those are BEAUTIFUL, Sunni. I especially like the compositions with the tree moss and the driftwood... very dramatic.

Did you get that coastline shot with your new lens? That's pretty breath-taking too.

You GO, girl! :D :D :D

Volcano trip today.... I didn't get to see the molten lava today.. it is a long hike back there and was late in the day, and I had no flashlight to find my way back.. (well , the Honu wasn't at the volcano... but I hand to throw it in anyways!!!)

Honu (green sea turtle)

Kilauea Cauldra..... Kilauea is the youngest and southeastern most volcano on the Big Island of Hawai`i. Kilauea is the home of Pele, the Hawaiian volcano goddess. "Kilauea" means "spewing" or "much spreading," A caldera is a volcanic feature formed by the collapse of a volcano into itself, making it a large, special form of volcanic crater.

Steam vents from the volcano... this steam s hot.. I felt it... Awsome to stand right there and feel the heat...These are larger ones, but they are all over some are small and you actually step over them to get to the lookout points...
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y13/Su ... 92_092.jpg

I never realised how large lava flows were until today...I drove for miles along a road that was carved into the lava... or maybe the lava was cut back off the road,,,,,I'm not sure on that,,, this pic sort of shows just a small section, with the ocean in the background.

Keanakakoi Crater .... craters sometimes crack and lava flows into them.. the bottom of the crater is hardened Lava.
