Hah. I think that at least once my phone inserted some random Polish word into an English sentence when I was freezing in Kazakhstan. To be fair: my phone didn't really know English back then.

PSA, y'all.

So, my old account used to be under Finchington. I used some old, completely irrelevant email address and password for that account, and because the browser which I used remembered my details, I never used them, anyway. So, when the forum changed, I lost my password, and can't remember the password for the old email account under which my forum account was registered. Therefore, I couldn't access my email to change my forum password, so I couldn't log in.

Figured it would be easier to make a new account since I can't use the old one, so here I am.

... Is this allowed?

Nurse baby, change dirty nappy, nurse baby again. Pat baby's back until he burps, let him comfort suck, and rub his back until he dozes off cuddled up in bed against my side. Try not to move for an hour to make sure he is actually asleep. Transfer him swiftly to muslin cloth... Which is under the a/c vent, shit. Baby wakes up. Repeat above. Transfer again. Success. Swaddle baby brilliantly. Baby is now not going anywhere. Put baby in cot. Dim lights, check stupid owl-faced temperature thing. Owl grudgingly admits 22.9 degrees C will probably not cook the baby. Tiptoe around cot (which is in our room) and brush teeth. Running water wakes baby. Despair. Repeat. Baby is asleep, crawl into bed. Silence. Baby is aware that I am finally comfortable. Baby is awake.

If I'm suddenly more active on Cantr, it's because I am literally awake all night with this kid nestled against me in bed, and I'm on my phone to keep from dozing off.

And people can't understand why I don't want babies... My neighbours in the upper floor had a baby born too, and I spend my nights suffering their heavy steps while they walk the whole apartment trying to make him sleep. Not that they disturb me due to my insomnia, but I feel sorry for them. It must be hard. All the merit to new parents. Keep up and may the patience be with you, Wolfsong!

I used to be in the "ugh, babies" camp. Now I'm in the "ugh, every baby except for mine" camp. Funny how that happens, I guess.

White sound sometimes help. This raining sounds on the background, for instance. It relaxes the baby and muffles the other sounds.

Yeah, I have a fan in the room since it was up around 42 degrees the other day and our evaporative a/c doesn't do much on muggy days (which we rarely have, to be fair.) I just ended up cuddling him in bed again last night... Think he went into his cot for a few hours, though. I almost feel refreshed.
