Stop encouraging him. He's in one of my towns! One day, a carrot statue will just appear, I know it.

A carrot statue? Hm, that sounds like a great idea!

Since your hair is green it can be leaves of the carrot.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I've never felt more crappy for needing to ban my nieces from coming over to my house after visiting for the first time. Ages 6 and 5 I feel horrible but I didnt know what else to do. They had gotten into my air freshener in the bathroom that is one of those melting small ball things that evaporate and release scent. It was all over the floor and my cats can sneak under the door even though I keep it shut. Had I not gone in there before a cat did I don't even want to think of the possibility. Needless to say I spent 20 minutes picking up all the small balls then another 20 minutes cuddling the heck out of my furbabies. Not sure when I'll let my nieces back over but I question myself if I was too hard on them. They're old enough to know better since they tried to deny everything.
Oh look, another glorious morning… makes me SICK!

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
One of my roommates is sick.
While she's sick, she's having her phone alarm go off every twenty minutes (this started around 9:30pm), but she sleeps through it, and it's password protected which means I can't turn it off myself. So I play Reveille on my phone to wake her up so she'll shut off her alarm. Then she gets on the phone with her mom. Today she's calling a bunch of classmates trying to figure out stuff that she could be emailing about... or talking in the hall... anyway.
1. This alarm-and-phonecalls cycle is a daily thing, and then she's up past 3am studying on her laptop while I went to bed at 11 despite not having my homework done because I need a full night of sleep to function. It drives me nuts. I need silence (or unchanging, indistinct background noise)! The sound of her typing makes me so angry. Even the sound of my own typing bothers me now (I have a touchscreen but I don't like using it...). Why do you have to call your mom at 11pm? Why not talk at a normal time, like no later than 9pm? Also, why do you have your ringer on at night?
2. Roommate. You're sick. You need rest. GO TO SLEEP. YOU'LL FEEL BETTER SOONER. JUST GO. TO. SLEEP.
Edit: I've told her many times that this bothers me. The thing is, she's so sugary sweet and claims that nothing that I do bothers her in any way, shape, or form, so therefore nothing should bother me too, right? (The last part isn't a claim but some form of reciprocity that some part of my mind keeps telling me is the way it is.) So she gets better about it for a day and then goes back to the routine of Snickie-doesn't-get-sleep-anymore.

I forgot to mention, she gets up earlier than me too. Like, 6am early while her first class isn't until 9. And then she studies some more on her laptop. She won't go the library because she's terrified of being kidnapped or talked to.

I don't know.
Last year I would come in the room in the evening after band (6 or 7 depending on the day) and she'd be passed out in bed, then she'd get up at 9 and do homework.

Pay someone to come over and kidnap or talk to her at the dorm then, maybe she'll be terrified to hang around while you're trying to sleep.
I really don't know what to tell you, I've never been in a roommate situation where I couldn't theoretically kick the other person out if they're being insufferable enough.
But you have my deepest sympathies. I can't function without at least a few hours of uninterrupted sleep (Cantr sometimes makes this difficult...) And I MUST have complete silence and no distractions to sleep at all. The yearly visit to my aunt always drives me nuts because apparently no one in that part of the family can sleep without a TV on.

When I had a situation where my roommate was awake when I wanted to sleep, I ended up buying a blindfold and earplugs. Really helped a lot.

Can't you request a change of roommate/room?

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I already use an eyemask and my earplugs are worn out and disgusting (if not from wax buildup then from the smell of mildew after cleaning them out so many times) from so much usage. It doesn't help that they're old because I used this pair for two years of indoor percussion. Had to. Would've gone deaf without them.
I wanted to get an apartment this year but my mother is terrified of me living off-campus and going to the commuter parking lot at night (it's really not that sketchy but you know how mothers of only-children are), and since she pays my tuition I kind of have to abide by her wishes. I'm also guilted into staying with this roommate because she had such a bad experience with her first roommate and she and her family practically worship me because I'm quiet and have no social life (at least, none that I bring back with me into the room, except for my bff who is also my roommate's sort-of-friend so that's okay). At the same time though it's not as bad because I have two roommates this year and they get along well even though they're kind of the opposite of each other.

Man, what university is this? UCF? UF? USF? I stayed at... Libra dorms in UCF back when I was in uni. Crap parking, crap dorms, but I had an okay dorm mate. The only problems I had with her is that she would frequently have loud sex marathons in the bathroom, the ONLY bathroom, at all hours of the day/night. Also - okay, she was half-Jewish, half-Catholic, which apparently meant she could eat pork any time she liked, and have meat on Fridays. I hated sharing my crappy microwave bacon. But I did get my revenge on her. I ate her slim jims.

Today I told one of my old friends that she must mind her own business rather than involving with my life (which is more colourful than hers). Now she's banned from commenting on my choices and I remembered why I didn't see her in the last months .
