Yeah, that's what I read into that too, Seko. And I find it ridiculous.
Polls IMO were the best thing to hit the suggestion forums since ever. I don't understand this new ruling at all, really. It just seems so.....pointless and uneccessarily controlling, and the opposite of player-inclusive.

I think one of the problems is that the polls were mainly getting the opinions of a very small group of English-speaking players who are active in the forum, and not of the larger playerbase. They give a very skewed perspective. I think we had better discussions before these were introduced, though that might be for a number of reasons.

True, and I know there was a long forumless period for me while I was active in the game. Better making those polls in the game page if possible.

I'd rather not see them on the gamepage itself unless they're talking about huge major changes. I don't want to feel bombarded with polls asking me if I want hula skirts and clay hair beads and if fighting should be made turn-based instead of tick-based (okay that's a major change but still) every time I want to play my characters.

That's not actually a problem, because it's not a democracy - the GAB still make the final decision on it. They don't, and haven't, gone "Oh look, 80% of people support this, we better move it to Accepted".

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Swear my job doesn't give two thoughts to our company vans. I'm at the end of my shift and I stop to use the bathroom, literally shut the van off for two minutes while I'm inside. Come back out and the van doesn't start. No way a battery could die that fast. Not a new battery. So I call my boss and tell him. He then tells me "oh, that van has a lot of problems, it should just be scrapped". OKAY.. So.. Why is a van that shouldn't even be used in the rotation anyway? Because they are too lazy to bring out a new one.. Part of me hopes they don't replace it so I get a day off.. I just feel bad for the next driver who has to wait to see what they are going to do..
Oh look, another glorious morning… makes me SICK!

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Which of these is the correct philosophy?
It can't be both.
- Don't whine about your problems. Always be grateful because someone out there (a lot of someones) has it worse than you.
Ex: While you're whining about your roommate's typing keeping you awake at night (even through your earplugs), she's failing a class and desperately trying to scramble her way out of the Failure zone. Meanwhile your sleeplessness isn't costing you anything but a few points on a quiz or a missed note during a rehearsal, nothing so significant as to mean the difference between passing and failing. She can't study in the library because it's closed, nor can she go to the 24hour study lounge because she was once almost raped there. You must concede to her because her problems are worse than yours. - Your problems are just as important as everybody else's problems and deserve the same attention.
Ex: Your roommate's late-night typing is keeping you awake and making you irritable. You make her go to bed at the same time you do or, alternatively, make her go out to the hallway to do her homework so you can sleep. She should've done her homework sooner or somewhere else, instead of napping at 5pm and 9pm, because you deserve sleep as much as she deserves to pass her classes.
It can't be both.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I think It can be a mix of both. I carry the belief that we should be empathetic to others but I'm a very firm believer that someone else's suffering (no matter the degree of in comparison) does not invalidate our own. For me, life takes balancing of both these philosophies. So. I guess I'm no help.
Edited to fix an autocorrect goof.

If I were in that circumstance, Snickie, I would be asking myself whether there was any other place I could sleep or anything else I could put over my ears (like headphones with binaural beats streaming softly in).
Failing that, could you say what's wrong with her using the hallway? I don't know off the top of my head why that would be more than a very minor inconvenience for her out of consideration for the sleeper.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I find the whole roommate concept so strange. Like, you guys in the USA aren't living in Japan. There is SO much land. Why can't you just have a room to yourself?
I find it uncomfortable that you have to share a room with a stranger/friend.

Well, sharing rooms is cheaper (said the girl who had to share her room with another guy and another girl when they only had 2 beds... and shared her room with her brother for 2 years and with her sister for another 15 or so...)

I am upset that nobody got mad at me for trying to RickRoll on April 1.
Sure, its dated... not as bad as the "more cowbell" jokes though.
I will personally and privately thank the first person (with one exception, you know who you are) that calls me a:
"Dirty dog" today.
Its a limited time offer.

I actually like that song though.
I knew it was a joke, but I couldn't possibly be mad at being reminded of a song
I enjoy and hadn't heard in at least two years.

Going to a wedding in the next few days. Going to be staying at Blackrock Resort. This amuses me.
