I'm going through Sherlock (BBC Benedict Cumberbatch version on Netflix) withdrawals, so yesterday I checked out A Study in Scarlet from the library. I'm more than halfway finished with it.

Snickie, do you have a Kindle? This might be helpful - I had a similar problem after I discovered Sherlock-Cumberbatch-Version.

I do not have a Kindle, but I have the Kindle app and I'm too lazy to input my mom's credit card number to buy books. And I like the feel of real paper.

I checked out the first of two volumes of The Complete Sherlock Holmes from the library today. I have a head start since I've already finished A Study in Scarlet but we'll see how long it takes me to finish this.

(I'll probably still end up rewatching episodes.)

I have to say I used to be a huge fan of actual, paper, books. That changed over my family's month-long trip to Europe when I only could bring maybe five books with me for space/weight reasons. I... really wish I'd had a Kindle then. (Admittedly, had I not brought only a few books, I wouldn't have discovered a new series that I like in Ireland... *shrug*)

Also it's much easier for me to read my Kindle when I'm eating, or if I think I'm falling asleep... no need to worry about the book falling on my food, or losing my page when I fall asleep. I also find it rather satisfying to carry 100+ books around in my purse regularly.


Uh... none of this is meant to try to pester you to buy a Kindle, I'm just being ridiculously enthusiastic about it because holy heck so many books. And at the moment I'm sufficiently bored that my voice is saying the word in Sherlock's voice, lovely.

I have a couple of free books on my phone on Google Books and I know the appeal of the electronic books, especially the one where you put on your bluelight filter and read until you fall asleep and drop your phone and crack the screen.

After I finish the Sherlock Holmes series, I'm going to read either 1984 or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I've started the latter but my free sample of that book ran out and I have to pay like $7 to get access to the rest of it. I'm willing to bet it's in the school or local library so ha.
