And now I know why my parents told us as kids never to talk about Politics or Religion at the dinner table.

*Takes the fork out of his back.*

Ok guys, you made your point, and I'm fully with you, but let's not bash on "Dee" to badly now. Save some for the next stupid comment I make. Or is that this one?

Post something controversial to get us going again. I would but I've done that a lot lately.

Yep. They are. Not only are the numbers of the neo-nazi party increasing, but that sort of racist / religious extremeism has been growing fairly swiftly in the US (and Europe too) for a few years now.

Why? I reckon it's because fear of terrorism, and a lack of understanding, fostered by the governments which perpetuate that fear, has allowed extremist views, especially focused against Islam, to rise and grow.

It's funny, extremist views create extremist views.

There's nothing else for me to say, I made my point, you don't agree with me. But I think I may be convinced with some of your thoughts. But I still do not support the free speech thing if it's going to insult a relegion or disrespect it.

I made my point, thanks for commenting, thanks for arguing, thanks for agreeing, thanks for defending, thanks for attacking.

That's the whole point of free speech--being able to say things that people don't agree with.

If there was a group of people that, say, was forbidden by religion to use the color purple, and I painted my house purple, would they be within their bounds to burn down my house and issue death threats against me? My beliefs do not forbid me from painting my house purple, and I do not live in a country with laws against painting my house purple.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

Right, but painting your house purple isn't like offending a whole nation of muslims by making fun of their prophet.

This is tiring. We will never agree.

Dee, you failed to see the whole analogy! If I drew a good picture of Bush pissing on Christ would you be angry?

Yes, but these theoretical purple people would be offended.

As Coramon correctly pointed out (that's one relevant post in like.. what, almost 400 now? Seriously man, rkl post whores but I enjoy his posts), you missed the analogy entirely.

As a matter of fact, yes I would be angry, Coramon. And I'm not just saying that, I'd really be angry.

You see, it's not just about my relegion, all main three relegions (Islam, Christianity, Juddhism (sp?)) should be respected.
