Awkward: Having your phone go off full volume during a funeral.

Even more awkward: Your ringtone being "I Will Survive"

The most awkward: Coming back after a 10+ year hiatus and swearing I'd never come back.

I love how you guys argue about something which you'll never be able to change, and most of you don't really know about 'cept in theory. Raise your hand if you're a parent? Like one? Two, maybe? And thank god, right, because some of you, breeding... Boom goes the dynamite.

Anywho:
Derailed, much? I came here expecting to see pretty pictures, but instead I see more arguments as always. Why not rant about it in the...ranting thread maybe? :D Anywho I'll post mine in a bit, my computer does not take kindly to picture uploads.

This topic should probably be split. But seriously, I doubt we have many pedophiles playing Cantr and I don't see why someone who doesn't play the game (or hasn't played it in the past) would bother to read these forums, so not like there was a big chance of the picture ending up in the wrong hands.

Also: I desperately don't understand why some people just throw folders around willy nilly on their desktop. It drives me mad! How do you not put it in a subject related file? At least in 'My Documents' or a 'Misc' file folder. How do you wander through life with such basic lack of organizational skills? How does it not drive you scarpers? Just seeing people's desktops who do it makes me grind my teeth, and I don't know why anyone would desire that fundamental lack of organization?
I mean, I'm a messy person, but this puts needles in my brain and gives me the twitch. Why?

I sometimes leave miscellaneous files on my desktop when I can't think of anywhere else to put them and they aren't substantial enough to have a new folder created for them, however I'd usually delete them or put them elsewhere within a week.

When particularly busy or doing a lot of different things, my desktop can become untidy but generally that makes it hard to to find things when I need them.

What do you mean aren't substantial enough? H'lo, I'd like you to meet the 'Miscellaneous' folder. It's like that big drunk drawer in the kitchen where your parents stick everything and about once a year you get bored and go looking for some extra ramen packets and find some old keys or an earring with no back you lost a month ago. That the 'Misc' folder, just sort of shove everything not 'substantial' enough to have a folder of it's very own in there, and look back in a couple of months or whenever you need some extra space and you'll find stuff you'd forgotten about, and will be new and interesting and fun again. I love doing that with my writing, because it's like inspiration, and I continue where I left off, write for a bit and then leave it. It's really fun and you ought to try it. Fun, and clutter free! I think I have slightly OCD tendencies. I know I do when I'm cracked out on Adderall.

I throw a lot of files, archives and all sorts at my desktop. Mostly because my memory ain't good for remembering things to do, therefore I just throw it at the most visible place as possible. I only clean it when it gets too cluttered or has too many things that don't interest me anymore, but I don't consider it anyway a lack of organizational skills, it is simply a different way of using it.

My eyes are alredy used to it, and after some time, I simply know where is everything in the screen. On the overall, the efficiency of this in comparison with creating large categorized directories of files (which would only proably consist of a large 'Misc' file) is way higher.

It is just like people who apparently have a mess in their rooms, but know where is everything in the room and I'll be pissed if you dare to 'organize it' for them (me again :) ).

*shrugs* The only time I ever actually see my desktop is when I shut down my computer (rarely). I'm such a pack rat and I hate loading pages that I keep windows open days after their usefulness has expired. Like, my Cantr tab is always up, my Cantr Forum tab is always up, my FTO tab is always up, and right now another sticky tab of mine is a cheat page for Stronghold: Crusader, a simple little computer game I play sometimes but KNOW I'm not going to play for days. Still, I keep the tab.
Anywho finally, here's my nice cleany desktop:
Image
Look at all that uncluttered space! I shoved all the programs into My Documents. I change my picture once every so often--I've a great many awesome wallpaper type pictures--but I'm thinking I'll keep this one for a while. :]] I never realized I had it till like two days ago. But anywho, here's a fresh scrncap.
Sad bit is almost everything on this computer is pirated and it's 100% free. Not so sad for me, I spose, but for The Man it must be devastating!

I accidentally messed up the icons on my desktop a few days ago and will now have to organize it again.
It is organized in a matter that makes everyone but me think it is messy.

I agree.
Is it some sort of artistic photograph?

I know that. But I didn't dare try figure out what you meant. Although I do have my suspicions.

You might be thinking it was a nice background, literally what you said. Am I right there? But I had to think all the way to artistic photographs and the likes.
