Ignoring the PM bit, mind explaining here? I've always been told it was the silicone, which was bad if you needed to dye etc.

I don't use it myself, but use a lot of products with silicone on the horse - the effect is wonderful but I always worry it is stripping something out of the hair and making it dry..

Yeah sure I'll explain here. Basically what it does, is fills in "holes" aka damage to your hair, as well as coating the hair down to the shaft. This makes it so yeah it feels soft and silky, but it also keeps your hair from being able to breathe, in essence killing it. That's the reason it's "so good" for coloured hair, it just coats it and the colour doesn't fade.

But when you stop using it after a few washes with real and better shampoos, you notice how dead your hair is from not being able to breathe and repair what it can in itself. Also inhibits growth.

I'm not using supermarket shampoos either and always checking ingredients.If there is writing dimetichone or dimethicole it means that shampoo has silicone based components.:)
