Of the "quartet" (which I would call a trilogy and a prelude, written in the wrong order), my favorite is Speaker for the Dead. Second is Ender's Game, third is Children of the Mind and fourth is Xenocide.
The Bean trilogy is just different. More geopolitics, less complexity. Somewhat analogous to Brian Herbert vs. Frank Herbert, I suppose.
