Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
RotD:
Decided to hang out in the river yesterday with my 2 brothers, and their friend. They took a paddle boat and I had an air-up tube float. We put the boat in up river and floated down near their house. Not a very long trip, but we took our time swimming and fishing and were in the water for 5 hours. It was great for the first 4. I was in my float hanging on to the back of the boat and they were pulling me, because there's no way I could have kept up, and they were fine with it.
When we got to the spot on the river where we were going to get out, we decided to go down a little ways more to try one more fishing spot they call 'Gar Hole'. So we go down river, maybe a quarter mile. By then, the sun is getting low and the wind is picking up and it's getting a little bit chilly to be in the river, but I don't mind so much. We stay for 20-30 minutes before deciding to head back up river. So I grab onto the back of the boat and we start to go. We go for a few minutes, and hit a shallow spot in the river where I could touch ground, and I started walking with the boat to help go a little faster.
My oldest brother says 'Hey, give it a push, I think we're caught." so I dig my feet in and I push, but in the process, the boat slips out of my hands. I tried catching up, but barely made any progress swimming against the current, and they just laughed and kept going! It took almost an hour for me to swim the quarter mile upstream against the current, with just an air up float. There were several times where I had to force myself to keep going when I was out of energy fighting the current. If I stopped for even a minute to rest, I started floating downstream a lot quicker than I was moving upstream. By the time I hit shore, I could barely stand, and they had the nerve to ask me to drive them back to where they left their car when we put the boat in! Ugh!
Its something I might expect from my older brother, but not the other 2.
Today, I hurt so bad that I can barely get out of bed, and I have a hard time just going to the front door to let the dog out without stopping to sit down. I just can't believe the nerve of some people, that they would do that and still expect something from me!

Agreed. You should have left them there though, teach them that actions have consequences.
ROTD: Sort of in line with my comment above. People don't seem to understand that actions breed reaction. They beat their heads against a wall, and then complain about having a headache.

^ That's just horrible. Had a similar problem years ago, however that was due to the incompetence of our energy provider. After being presented with a bill for over 1k for gas that we weren't even provided with (they never connected our gas, which was under a pay as you go agreement, but billed us for the fish and chip shop on the ground floor! IDIOTS!), it took many telephone calls and contacting the energy watchdog, plus switching to another provider. It was days from hell, being pregnant at that time and all. I hope it's sorted out really quickly, it is so unpleasant to be in that situation.
