my characters' responsibilities give me a reason to live

Gabriel was Seko's only responsibility?

If Cantr fails, I'm not sure if the rest is worth living for.

I have to admit, that sounds a little disturbing.

You could say that. The others never expressed that Seko was needed, he knew they could get along just fine without him. Mig has Raryn and Brandy has always seemed like a person who can take care of herself and keep things running. And Brandy never realized how close Gabi and Seko were to each other. It was a very special relationship. And Seko didn't truly comprehend death, to him it was just a transformation to spirit form and he was convinced that Gabi would be waiting in the next location.

I feel disturbed myself, although now I feel better than in the morning or noon or last night. Something has led me to believe that a person's value is based on what they can give the society, and if I don't have the energy to make results, I only consume, I keep receiving student benefits but I'm not advancing in my studies, and I'm not sure if I will be capable of working and paying my debt to society after all the years wasted in school.

She may not have known how close, but she knew they were close. She felt kind of left out. She definitely didn't want you guys to die though.

There's more to give to society than just money. A lot can be done just by living a life.

Seko, do we only measure people by their economic output? Don't we also measure ourselves by the people who make us happy, or sad, or confused, or offended, or just forgetful of reality, or filled with a sense of wonder, or filled with a sense of despair? That's why we have comedians, politicians, disaffected college students, diplomats, more politicians, movie producers, poets, and yet more politicians and disaffected college students! Put together the entire economic worth of all of these and you come up with a negative number. But we still want them! A lot!! Well, we want some of them a lot. The others just seem to accumulate like clothes hangers in the wardrobe... you don't know where they're coming from but every time you open the door there's more of them. And eventually you have more hangers than you have clothes and then... ummm... ...what was the question?

The problem is that when I'm depressed, I can't provide anything even by being there for someone or being useful in some other non-economical way.

Seko, hang in there. Live to be 100 and only then let people (including yourself) sum up what your life has been worth. At the very least, you'll have a story or two to tell, and everyone loves a good story.

lol, if only real life was like Cantr, I could just walk to the shore and gather 10 kilos of twigs to make a longboat, then sail around the coast telling the story of my life. And all I'd need would be raw potatoes, available in almost every town. I already have quite a story from when I was 18.

I know who one of you are, but I don't try to reveal this character that I am.
When you hope for something, you often believe in something. When you believe in something, you often have pride in it. Being proud often leads to a hating of some group.

I rant against Sleepers who sleep for 4 weeks, wake up for 2 days and bitch at you for not feeding them while they were asleep, and then fall back asleep for 3 months.

Screw you. No more food for you.
