-- REMOVED 05/02/005 - 18:36GMT --

As far as I was aware, there was, and is not any 'Spyware/adware' contained with the site previously listed. But I have removed the link and will continue with taking the site off the net until I can fully confirm the accusation agaist the site.

If you went to the site and experienced problems send an e-mail, along with details of any adware/spyware that got onto your system to ash_wat@hotmail.com (Site master).

I would like to offer sincere apology to Agar. If you'd like to tell me exactly what happened, as other visitors to the site did not experience these problems, I would like to talk to you further. But the site will remain nothing until I get to the bottom of any problems.

Also being called a son of a bitch really isn't what I wanted to hear. :(

I doubt many people haveclicked the link within the 28 minutes you posted, and I removed it.

spyware ? adware ?

What's that?

I as a full-time Firefox and Mac OS X user have no experience whatsoever with that concept...

I'd imagine that people who are forced to use windows should at least use firefox, afaik you won't have any trouble then.

Agar, the insulting is unnecessary. Consider this a warning

PM me directly next time if you believe there to be spyware and adware linked to by any member of this forum, please.

Bob, please PM me the link you posted.

Oh, and I have also told people before - Unless asked to by a moderator, please do NOT delete the contents of any of your posts and replace them with something else.

Oh, hey. I'm a Moderator.

Okay, everyone, you're welcome to edit your posts. Because I gave you all permission.

Because, you know... it's your post to begin with... the button to Edit the post is THERE to be used... and oh, I dunno, the buttom right hand corner says "You can edit your posts in this forum."

I really don't see where you get off telling people they can't edit their own posts, Revanael. Sure, okay, almighty Communications Department and all, but I don't want to argue here... if players were not MEANT to edit their posts, they wouldn't have the ability in the first place, now would they?

Sure, okay, I can understand if the player in question is a MODERATOR and edits their own post, since even after someone posts after their own submission, they still have the edit button for moderation purposes. If THAT'S what you're talking about, then yes, I agree, you shouldn't edit you post, for confusion reasons.

However, if your post is the last one there, and that edit button is still available, be my guest and edit your own work to your hearts content. And you can, too! Remember: I'm a Moderator. I'm giving you permission.

We're all just following Revanael's orders here :) Right? TECHNICALLY, we are!

[Edit]: OH SHIT! I'm EDITING MY POST! God, I'm gonna get in TROUUUBBBLLLEEE!

I just thought I'd add ONE more point: I know Revanael is going to argue "Anthony, you're NOT a Moderator". If that is the case, why does my name show up green (Anthony Roberts), all moderator ish, HMMM? Why in the bottom right does it say "You can moderate this forum.", HMMM?

Oh, tisk tisk, Revanael, tisk tisk. Let's not go jumping hoops, scoops, loops, and ladders to make ourselves almighty and powerful. Sure, you're *Gasp* Communications Department... but, even with the fancy title and job of Moderation, is telling people that they can't edit their posts your job? How is that Moderation?

Mod'erate (-it) a. not going to extremes, not excessive. medium. -n. person of moderate views. -v.t. and i. make or become less violent or excessive.

CD EDIT: Mind your language, Anthony.

Delete and REPLACE.

Which is Edit, because you can't replace anything after you delete it, you'd in fact have to make a new post which would end up at the bottom of all the posts.

It's pretty clear:

Unless asked to by a moderator, please do NOT delete the contents of any of your posts and replace them with something else.

It doesn't say "delete the post", it says "delete the contents of the post". Which is editing.

Anthony - you know communications dept. doesn't stop people editing their posts - it's even encouraged in some situations (offensive etc...)

What is not appreciated is writing-over of everything in a post - so that there is no trace of the original - as we have no way of viewing the original...

Neither is this the place to be discussing this. If you have a problem with the way a member of staff goes about their job - take it up with the chair of the dept. or the personnel officer.

But i get the feeling that you're just being difficult for the sake of it - either way - TOPIC LOCKED
Whoever you vote for.

Look. I shall demonstrate what I mean.

If I were to write a post, allow people to respond, and then replace my entire post with something completely different, then that would NOT be acceptable. If I were to edit some small part of my post, perhaps to add something or to correct something, that would be fine.

Do you understand the difference, now?

Deleting the contents of a post involves removing the entire contents, and maybe replacing them with something else. Editing involves modifying some small part of the post.

Oh, and as a slight addition: NEVER edit out a comment that has been added by the CD.
