R.I.P. Ronnie James
Though I have gotten quite a bit older, I still remember with warm affection the vocals of Ronnie James Dio and his days as the voice of Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and the band that bore his namesake.
Every now and then I reminisce about the 80's, well, the good times at least and his voice is one that will always ring amongst the best of the heavy metal movement during those times.
Dead of stomach cancer at age 67...have we really gotten that old?
R.I.P. Brother.

I'm afraid I have no idea who that is. But thats likely because of not living in that country. And not being alive at that moment might also be a cause of that.
There is no rule that says I can't post as much I want. I asked my lawyer.

It's probably more a matter of musical taste. I didn't know the guy until a few days ago either.
Pretty in pink.

Don't forget Elf and Earth. Truly Dio will be missed, he was one of my idols as a vocalist, his voice is one of a kind. Rest well brother. *devil horns*

So many great losses since last year...

I went to see Joe Bonamassa live last night. Before the concert we had a few beers, then a friend had ordered a limo for all of us (8 guys). It was an old classic 70's limo with rock karaoke in it. The ride was like half an hour and we all sang (or screamed) DIO songs all the way. That was our tribute to one of the best, and quite a hilarious thing. I wonder what people thought of us when we drove through town.
R.I.P DIO!

I forgot to mention Elf and I honestly don't remember Earth but if he was their front man, I'm sure they rocked. I got to see him from about 10-15 feet as I was stuck in the middle of a mosh pit during Black Sabbaths 'Mob Rules' tour. I was young enough to handle that then.
Dio on karaoke huh? Unlike the previous poster...I would not want to see that, unless I was really drunk or something and I don't drink anymore so...sigh.
