I have been investigating the new banner add (genuine curiosity, really) and I found this:
http://www.gotpaidagain.com/index.php?id=2124
So far as I can tell it looks like some sort of pyramid scheme varient. Is it a good idea to sell advertizements to what I think is an illegal scam?
Is this legal?

$20 for every person I directly or indirectly get to sign up for the ad? Bullshit!
Though I suppose the advertisement department did their research before entering into this. Plus, Jos, Thomas, and the rest of the gang are smart people and I think they would see through such a scam.
Hey, if it is true then Cantr could earn loads of money.
Is there a way to refer people to this program and make sure they say that the people at Cantr got them to join?

Alright. I read that site and went down to the letters at the bottom and decided to type in one of the e-mail addresses into my bar and this is the site that it led me to; http://www.gotsafebox.com/
The name of the site is GOTsafebox which appears to be some sort of e-mail thing.
Now the name of our advertisement site here is GOTpaidagain.
See the similitaries?
It appears the so called letters below are from sites that are owned by the same people. First this make it appears to be something legit seeing letters from other people saying how great it is. It also allows them an opportunity to advertise for their other sites.
This wreaks of scam all over it.

The other letter from a site called Moomia.com has a section about being aware of scams (http://www.moomia.com/scams.htm) and I don't see this particular avertisement on any of their pages that I have viewed so...........
Plus this scam section is under their advertisement section.
Moomia.com looks like a legit site selling e-mail domains and hosting them on their server.

It seems the company that owns these programs and sites are called GOT Team. Does anyone know anything about them? This is the first time I have heard of them and their services.
They also own a site called GOTsafelist.com which is also mentioned in one of the letters on GOTpaidagain.com. hmmmm.................

Don't know if this is related but I did a 'GOT Team' search on google.com and came up with a government site (http://www.mcrcc.osmre.gov) that have to do with surface mining.
On their page about grants and contacts (http://www.mcrcc.osmre.gov/grant/GOT%20team.htm) a John W. Coleman is listed as the GOT Team leader. I'm not sure if this is related but the got is capitialized like it was in the other 'got' sites which would be too much of a coincident.
I wonder how a company that has to do with providing these special internet services have anything to do with a government agency on surface mining unless this company built the government site but then why would the leader be listed under the grants section?

I decided to look up GOTteam.com. It appears to be a site about helping people with being successful in the business world. I tried get to their information section but in order to get information about them I need to first fill out their survey which includes information like my name, address, phone number... Usually if you are a company you don't make people give out their personal information before they can see yours. Other sites are just about so called success stories from sastified customers.
Sounds like a business cult to me.

Other sites that seem to be affiliated with this GOT Team;
http://www.geeksontime.com/tech_apply.html
http://gotannualreport.ky.gov/2001/
There is also another group out there by the name of got TEAM which seems to be some sort of sports computer gaming clan. I don't think it is related but you never know.

Okay, I checked out this GOTteam.com and yes, like RKL said, the only way to get info is to give your info
So I was thinking
and I thought some more
then I grabbed a drink and had a smoke, and thought some more.
and I decided to enter bogus info, to get the info. This is what I put:
First Name: Jesse
Last Name: James
Telephone Number: (666)666-6666
e-mail address: jamesgang@hell.com
City: Burnville
Province/State: Brimestone
Country: Taiwan (you only can select a couple)
How did you hear about us?: The Devil told me about you
What is your monthly income?: Customer Only (For Souls)
How many hours a week are you
willing to work to reach your goal?: 20+ (you dont get breaks in hell)
how would you describe your
self motivation?: Very Motivated (it's hot, keep moving)
Who is the decision maker in
your house hold?: You (I'd like to have said "Devil")
Select your time zone: Central (well where is hell?)
When is the best time to call?: Evenings (No parties in hell)
Do you have any network
experience?: Yes(Hell is a big network)
Would you like to tell me anything
else about your self?:
Yes I talk to the devil and he says hi
Now I'm done the info part, and the only buttons it gives you is "Reset" and "Call me". So you cant get the business' info online. It sure seems like a scam to me. I mean the information I had to give, was like applying for a job, or fileing my taxes. I would never give out that kind of info, and no respectable business would even ask them. Besides since when do you need to give info to get info?
Oh and by the way I did click "Call me"
