Speaking as a non-American who really is only interested on what the next American President means for the rest of the world (specifically the UK), I am a little surprised to say I've liked what I've seen of Biden thus far. He and Obama seem a much more balanced and natural partnership than Palin/McCain.
None of the gaffes I've seen/heard thus far in any way match up to how terribly uninformed Sarah Palin is. Anyone who attacks Obama's decision making skills for choosing Biden: what does Palin say about McCain? I wouldn't want a President who is going to take such risks on a cheap political stunt for a a small proportion of votes.
One last point from me: the USA cannot recover from this current financial crisis by adopting isolationism like previous occasions. That means you have to consider how other countries see your leadership... and Palin is a disaster waiting to happen. There is no reason Republicans have to be unpopular with the rest of the world, but at some point the Republican party needs to choose someone with some natural charisma. Law of averages says they must...
And before any one calls me left-wing... you don't know me at all if you think that.

I couldn't stand SP pitched and rushing voice today, almost gave me a headache. I found Biden quite serious and experienced, he didn't avoid questions and he didn't do any gaffe.
I like to imagine if they would fit as politicians in the WWII era --I could certainly imagine Biden talking with allies about the WWII.

I dont like to discusse nor hear about the 'elections'. Mainly because the current and only system ever used to 'elect' is flawed. It is so bad that it discourages most Americans, myself included, from voting. Resulting in yet further flaws.
If you don't like the president be it from the US stand point or UK well there is nothing that can be done, legally. Not only that but your the little guy so you don't matter. Your ideas and opinions are worthless and have no merit. Not saying don't have them, I'm a free thinker myself. I just understand that nothing is going to change. Not in my lifetime at least.
2000+years of the same government, policies, and people. Remember your barly a sneeze compared to this. It's futile, and I hate it. Besides no matter who enters office this time, someone is getting shot (at).

I thought neither candidate did horribly last night, though Palin seemed programmed; it seemed like she would always use random questions as jumping off points for talking points she was told to make. All-in-all, a tactical victory for Biden, a strategic one for neither... and thus more good news for Barack Obama, who is currently in the lead
Palin's voice reminds me of quite a few females' voices from Minnesota, which is odd
EDIT: Aha!

But dialect features tend to come from one's peers, not one's parents, and Palin spent her childhood in Alaska's Mat-Su Valley, which is where she got her distinctive manner of speaking. The next town over from Wasilla, Palmer, has a large settlement of Minnesotans—who were moved there by a government relief program in the 1930s—and features of the Minnesotan dialect are thus prominent in the Mat-Su Valley area. Hence the Fargo-like elements in Palin's speech, in particular the sound of her "O" vowel. (Despite its name, Fargo took place mostly in Brainerd, Minn.)

I find it shocking that some people (admittedly on Fox Newscantrlady wrote:Sad to say - many people are celebrating tonight that she didn't make any huge mistake and she connected with all the regular folk out there. Well I want more than "regular folk" being one hearbeat from the presidency.

Well done Sarah Palin, with two weeks preparation you could handle questions. You just need to ask foreign leaders, big business, terrorists or whomever to give you two weeks to prepare before you deal with the issue.
I find it disgusting how the Republicans have handled Palin. And I find it equally disgusting that people like me are being branded as leftist liberals just because I refuse to just ignore Palin's inadequacy because she's a woman. That's unbelievably sexist.
How come there aren't more Americans feeling resentful that she consistently talks down to them with simplistic language just because she is a "regular hockey mom".
Rant over for now...

One thing I can't stand is when I go around my school and people talk about it... I say I don't like Obama and of course they say I don't like him because he's black... Gets on my nerves and from what I heard about the debate, when asked about abortion and gay rights, Palin gave a straight answer, while... form what I heard... Biden kinda jumped around saying Yes but No... which pretty much means that he just wants to be friends with everyone and not make anyone mad.

It's fine not to like Obama. Nothing to do with race (or at least it shouldn't be), I personally don't believe he should be the Democrat candidate.
And a straight answer from Palin? Only if you happen to ask a question on the 5 topics she was prepped on, otherwise you won't get any answer... just a reference to one of those 5 topics she was prepped on. At least Biden can think on his feet and answer the question asked, and doesn't wink. No politician should ever, ever wink.
