Alright, one last comment. there are a few things that determin one persons... richness.

education.
hard work.
you're state of citizenship.
IF you have another partner to help.
you're location.

thats it. and, if you go into america right, if you settle down in the right place, if you work you're but off, and if you have a partner. 3 things you can controll, and two you have half controll of. Nobody is poor becaus of america. It's becaus of theft, unimaginativeness, and most of all, there parrents, and they can ashuradly pull themselves out. so stop all this (oh, it's the world against me) stuff.

gah. well, heres another comment. well, In the place that i live in, there is a pretty good work oprotunity. not sure about were you live, but here you can get a good job even if you're not out of high school (8 dollars an hour) mc donalds was actually paying that here. and theres an ice creem place, a resturaunt, another resteraunt, i'm not gonna pull out the wanted pages, but yea. a fair amount of jobs.

Pie, you honest to God don’t get it. I can’t help you. Never mind. Just stick with your simple black and white solutions. Blame the victim. You’ll be happier that way anyhow. And read your Bible again, brother.

right back at you.(i'm just as frustrated)

By the way, a lot of Americans won’t be eating any turkey this year, brother.

Well it takes a long time to immigrate so I wouldn't blame the Mexicans for illegal immigration, it took my dad 4 years until he had permission to immigrate.

It's frusterating when your beliefs clash with reality. I know that feeling all too well.

Pie, forget it. You don't understand how your country works. I'm sure you will at some point if you think about it a bit. But you honest to God just don't get it. Your stuck on your belief that America is fair to everyone and everyone has an equal shot at it. A fine idea, but not reality.

Test your beliefs a bit, man.

And as for "The world is against me" shit, I never said the world was against me, not for a minute. The world is against a Hell of a lot of people, but not me. I'm doing fine, brother. Sorry, but I'm not talking about myself and my own situation. I'm talking about reality. Trust me, brother, I'm doing quite well.

Yes, I know all that. I just don't see what your getting at with that, is all.

Pie, man, I’m finished, alright? I’m just going to talk about turkey from now on. I’ve said what I’ve got to say. Some things you’ve got to figure out for yourself.

I don't blame them, although I don't blame the American government either for sending them back over the river. Although the American government could solve the problem a lot easier, without handcuffs and truncheons, if they wanted to. But again, bussiness won't have it.

And please don't take offence, Lychee, but we can't let everybody in. We'd go under. That's not to say your father's presence isn't good for our country. I don't know your family. But a lot of people would like to come over. I happen to know that there's about 500,000 pending applications. It's tough to process.

That said, they really could handle it a lot better. And I'll bet anything once here they didn't recognize your father's degree, am I right?

Pie, Elros you guys, being obviously from fairly reasonable backgrounds forget that life isn't about simple running costs....

It's about set up costs and unexpected events.

Someone has to have a deposit to rent a place, buy enough clothes, a few bits of furniture, appliances like a cooker, fridge TV. Even used/second hand these things cost and a lot of people don't have mummy and daddy to support them while they save to buy them.
Then when they are 'set-up' with their wonderful place and then the engine goes on the car, or the hot water boiler dies, or anyone of a number of everyday occurances that cost pleny of money happens.
And kids... kids are purely and simply a money-pit. And for whatever reason not everyone waits till exactly the right time financially to drop a sprogg.

What we are talking about here is debt and interest, two aspects of life that are unavoidable for the poor, except the very poor who can't even get legitimate credit. Bad for mental health, good budgetting and something that can easily end you up in a right mess.

Not everyone has Mummy or Daddy to bail them out... and if you don't life can get real hard no matter how educated or hard working you are.

Ahem...

The international trade policies of the US government (although they are not alone) have made millions upon millions of people destitute and reliant on insecure and very low paid jobs, where they would otherwise be self-sufficient and secure land-owners.

Domestically, there are various attuitudes, often backed up by policies, which are highly discriminatory and persecutory.

In response to Phalanx's post:

First of all I was not the one giving all the figueres about what everything cost to live. I know that Pie had alot of it off, so don't throw me in on that.

Secondly bud, you have no idea what kind of life I live. Don't go and accuse me of having a "mummy and daddy" to bail me out of any financial problem I have. You could not be more off Phalanx. My mom and dad live on a very low income, and with all the kids they have, they get just enough to get by. I have bought everything I own. My car when i was 15, I worked a whole summer to buy a used car so that I could drive myself to work when I got my liscense, then I pay every bit of my insurance, my phone bill, buy my new clothes ect... This is not because my parents are bad parents at all, they give everything they can, but they have 9 kids and that gets expensive! So, I work my butt off and take care of myself, and I also give money to them to help them take care of the family also. Also, I have been working the last year and a half whenever i am not in school trying to save money for college next year which, by the way, my parents will not be able to pay for. So I will have to pay out of my own pocket, and any scholarships I get. So before you go around accusing people of getting everything from their mom and dad, maybe you need to realize that everyone did not grow up as big of babies as you.
Every action has a consequence.

Well then you will learn a lot of things in the very near future, and I am not talking about classes, and most of them won't be pleasant lessons.
