Cantr II Discussion Forum

Where do these things live? I see jackets and boots in the clothing list, but I've never noticed anyone wearing them, and none of my chars have ever seen a crocodile. Are they not on any of the main islands or what?

(And we should have more weird animals giving rare resources, that could add some diversity to different cultures...I know there's chitin, and ivory, and crocodile hide, and then tortoiseshell and snakeskin, but is that all?)

I think I read in a post somewhere that some used to live in Reniov Swamp but were all killed off.

Just like the rhino in the Akypor forest. Crocs still exist, but they have been exterminated from some inhabited regions.

I believe they may be located only on one island group now.

But there alot there...

Huh, it's weird to think of anything in Cantr being extinct, especially with all the hunting laws everywhere, but then again that's kind of cool...any other game would probably put in some more or have them 'repop' or whatever.

It's also cool that I'm fixing to make some boots out of the skin of an endangered animal, and this is a good thing that everyone will be impressed by.

There are still Crocs in the game, somewhere, I don't know the exact region, but I get the animal reports that they exist. Perhaps someday, when animal domestication is up, we'll at least be able to herd some onto a boat and transplant them.

Well, actually I do have char in Aki (thanks for the bike btw ).

But Aki doesn't exactly go a long way towards convincing me it's possible to make any species of animal go extinct...

Er...well since I'm not really sure what you mean there I guess I really don't know the scope of it.

(But for the record I meant "Thanks for the bike" to come across as sincere, not in a "Thanks for the bike...and the iron...and everything else not nailed down " kind of way.)

This isn't getting off topic at allllll is it?

I have a total of three charries on Aki, but the only two that know each other exist have never had a conversation or any other interaction, just introductions from go betweens and mentions of "Let me check with so-and-so to see what we can do". The other charrie doesn't even know the other two, or even where to begin to find them.

All on thier own agendas, own goal, some actually actively working against the others, in otherwords, nothing CR breeching.

But it's great fun to actually know what's going on with some things when other charries just wonder what happened to so and so or such and such.

LOL, wasn't aware of your other chars, and I still have no idea what you're talkign about, but I really only know of one functioning town on the entire island (well maybe two, depending on the definition of 'town') so I guess it's not a big surprise that I'm oblivious here.

There are a lot of crocodiles in the swamps of the French-Dutch island, and trust me you don't want to be near them.

They are the most aggressive animal in Cantr, and do the fourth most damage at 42 damage per hit (after the elephant, mammoth, and rhino). I would be scared of them too.

There are mammoths? truely? hmmm... well, I have a girl that would like to meet up with the croc's... she has been attacked many times by elephants and they do little damage to her, she has killed several with a longbow and one with a dung fork!
