Project Progression?

Postby KAM42 » Tue Jul 04, 2006 7:09 pm

Hi there guys. I've only been playing Cantr for a few days and I just wanted to ask a quick question. I've looked over past forum topics but couldn't find the answer so..

I understand that project percentage updates every cantr hour, but if I have a character discontinue work on the project before the update, will I lose all the work they have done?

i.e. if I start a project at 4:08:00 and I stop before the update at 4:24:00, will Cantr register any progress? Cheers guys 8)

No. You need to be working on the project when projects increment. What you do during the whole hour is irrelevent; you just need to be working on the project for the split second when the incrementation occurs. It's perfectly normal for active players to step outside, work on something at progression time, and then go back into their homes to continue whatever it was they were doing RP-wise.

The progress registers only during the instant of progress. So yes you will lose the work in that situation. But if you start a project at 4:24 then the whole hour will register as worked.

In essence Cantrians work really fast eight times a day and do nothing the rest of the time (unless hunting, fighting, or dragging).

I want to ask a question. It doesn't really deserve it's own thread, though. Here it is:
Does the term "Cantrians" refer to Cantr-players or the characters?
There. Please enlighten me.

Oh, I see. Is working on a project for just that moment not considered OOC or an abuse of mechanics, then?

Thanks for your speedy replies :)
