In terms of programming, what game effects would you think sports would have?

Well...Gambling,just for fun, somthing to talk about, civalized towns could meet for games for large rewards(like say winner gets half of losers food or somthing like that),Adiffernt way to settle disputes for non violent people, and well thers more to life than just survival sometimes.

there are ways of doing that in game without programming. you just have to be inventive

Maybe something like this could be introduced if and when cantr has skills/attributes and a sport could use one of these to see how proficient someone would be.

Yes. Exactly. The problem with physical sports is everyone is identical physically. When we have skills then there could be contests and training for contests.

For gambling they is little that is random. But not all gambling is random. For random things you can bet on the next time an animal will strike or arrive, a new chracter will be spawned at your location, and exactly how much an abandoned project will produce when it is done.

My char tried to introduce the idea of war 'games' to a moderate outcome, fellow guards acted in it, and it ended up more like a play.

Instead, for the community, he decided it was better for him to write a long Guide for the Guards.

I like the ideas of your chars, shame I don't think we've met IC, a few of my chars would be very interested in that kinda thing

Yeah, the idea of schools actually came up in another one of my characters, I mean these people are 20 years old at spawn, and should be in college. That would be quite interesting, if our char met and those ideas were implemented.

Why should they be in college?

I was comparing to real life, a majority of those who can afford it, are in college, so maybe some chars might want to set up some sort of universiteis to spread ideas like, making steel, making concrete and leading the fore front in top of the line equipment like cars and boats and engines and others of the sort, like in real life.

i had a char who was in training to be a warrior, but her 'master' wasn't very good at it, and i think she took a wrong turn in the mountains anyway.

Exactly they are 20 with no concept of their societies. They need to be put into forced education to make them understand the value of the empire.

Guess I won't be winning any elections with that one...
