Pirate or citizen?

I have noticed that some people's inclination, from their forum posting in any case, is generally towards criminality, violence, murder and piracy, and yet IG I don't see that much of it really.

There's a number of possible explanations for that but I'd like to guage if the impression is true? Is it just that tales of war and piracy are more interesting.. or that there two camps of players as it were...

Sorry if the poll doesn't cover all options but there are limits... Try and be honest, not macho!

It's a hard poll to answer with such subjective options, but my charas are mainly law abiding, but not above bending the rules to suit them in some cases.

Some are ruthless and callous

and some are zealously dedicated to some kind of code or law, be it a towns laws or another code of practice

I have noticed a fundamental flaw to this poll, no one want to tick the boxes so that other people see what kind of charries they play... don't want to damage to forum rep do we..?

Lets have a few people click the poll then come back and give their considered opinions on it later so we don't know who clicked what.. OK?

Well that doesn't work, because 4 people have voted already, and there's only me and phalynx talking about it, so I doubt anyone will be able to figure out who voted for what unless they're happy with saying it in the thread, as that is the only way we'd know

When I posted it nobody had voted, including you (or me)

Mainly option 4 but there are characters of mine who'd consider the laws followd by other of my characters, as positvely criminal ;)

About 3/4 of mine are law abiding, although that doesn't mean to say that they are always perfect, or that they don't wish for the power to change those laws :D, but I have a good mix of criminal types as well, and several that have been driven to being criminally insane by other characters, and are therefore evil :D. Then again several of my law abiding ones have been criminal at some point or another

Mine are mostly law obiding, yet crooked. They'd overthrow their partner and make decisions without them knowing that their partner wouldn't agree to it while the partner slept. They'd pocket goods when noone was looking (although when they do do that, they usually use it to make even bigger profit and none of my chars are greedy sooo it's not actually really a bad thing. Just something you have to do when you're in a town where the powerful leader wants everything in their clutches.)

I haven't ever had a pirate actually. And Im not good at making all out evil characaters. I am however pretty good at making characters that want to get revenge or that hold a grudge.

Although none of my characters are the kind of lower class criminal like this, or have ever been. I use deciet and cunning for my evil people, other than my clepto..... I can't remember the word, anyway, stealing obsessive, who will wrench anything of any value off the ground in the sight of others or not, then say that she is just holding them so that they don't get stolen, and then just waiting for people to forget about it to start using whatever it is that she steals. She has become -very- rich doing this, you'd be suprised what passes along the ground at one stage or another ;)

I consider, that you are mistaken. Let's discuss.
