Voting for Cantr on RPGGateways.com

Postby Solfius » Fri Jul 18, 2003 5:04 pm

Don't forget to boost Cantr's rating in the Dice Roller's Top 50 on RPGGateway.com by voting regularly.

You can vote once every 24 hours.

By voting you can encourage more players to join, or atleast try, Cantr, and that will help the game grow more, which must be a good thing.

You can vote by going to http://www.rpggateway.com/cgi-bin/wyrm/search.cgi?query=cantr

Click the "Rate It" link at the bottom of the entry for Cantr 2.0, just below the description text. Then, from the drop down menu that appears on the next page, give Cantr a rating from 1 to 5. 1 is the worst, and 5 is the best.

Because you can vote every 24 hours it is a good idea to bookmark that link (it always works and brings up Cantr's entry) and get in the habit of rating it just before you play Cantr. It takes 5 minutes, and will mean we get loads more players from the increased exposure.

The link to bookmark again: http://www.rpggateway.com/cgi-bin/wyrm/search.cgi?query=cantr

Remember:

VOTE CANTR! ;)

(P.S. Can someone with the ability to post topics in the Announcements section move this over to there, and maybe make it an announcement or sticky)

Voting Rules

"Each person is allowed to vote once per day. The voting system measures people by IP addresses and times, so you shouldn't have trouble voting unless you're behind a proxy server. Cheaters will be blocked and their sites will be disqualified."

If you plan on voting on it everyday you better make sure your IP address is different each time, otherwise it looks like it could get kicked off that site.

It says "Each person is allowed to vote once per day"

So, one vote per day is fine, no need to change the IP

I was thinking of them noticing that the same people were voting for the same thing everyday. Depends on what you call cheating I guess.

They don't consider voting once a day cheating. I do it nearly daily, often daily, and am fine.

I've always wondered-can you vote for multiple sites a day or just one a day, and if that would count as cheating or not.

You can give 1's to the others on the top 50

Cantr tends to go in and out of the top 50. The highest I've seen it is number 15 I think.

DON'T vote 1 for other sites. That IS cheating, and will get the site disqualified, not something we want to happen

I voted but cantr doesn't seem to be on the list of top fifty at this point in time.

The more people who vote daily the more often it will be up there. It varies as there are people voting for the other sites and it moves around a lot.

Here's a bit of code that produces a handy voting booth:

Code: Select all

<table background="http://www.rpggateway.com/images/bckgr03.jpg" border=1 bordercolor="#E4CC99" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="0" height="240" width="120"><tr valign="top"><td align="center"><p style="font: 8pt Arial"><form action="http://www.rpggateway.com/cgi-bin/wyrm/rate.cgi" target="_top" method="POST"><a href="http://www.rpggateway.com/Ratings/" target="_top"><img src="http://www.rpggateway.com/images/die-rollers-head.gif" alt="RPG, D&D Library" height="60" width="120" hspace=0 vspace=0 border=0 align="top"></a><br><br>Rate this site between one and five stars, where five stars is an absolute <nobr>"Must See"</nobr> web site that no one should miss and one star is a <nobr>"Don't bother."</nobr><br><br><input type=hidden name="ID" value="X"><select name=rate style="font: 8pt Arial"><option value=""><option value="1">1 - Don't Bother<option value="2">2 - Might be Useful<option value="3">3 - Interesting<option value="4">4 - Try to Get There<option value="5">5 - Don't Miss!</select><br><input type=submit value="Rate this Link" style="font: bold 8pt Arial"></p></form></td></tr></table>

Perhaps someone could stick it on the site?

We need more people who will vote 5! We are on 4.57.... and we need to have at least 4.78....

Do your best.
