New Cantr Jargon

I thought it would be entertaining to hear everyones ideas for new words applicable solely to the world of Cantr.
Here's one to start it off- "still-spawn", to describe characters that are spawned into a vegatative state so severe they are incapable of even feeding themselves.
Not as clever as what you literary geniuses are all capable of, I'm sure. So let's hear it!

This one is allready in use,
Note-bomber: To drop or distribute multiple copies of a note (usually in excess of ten), often in response to perceived injustice or with malicious intent.
How about,
Cantrpervs: When two, and only two, characters, usually but not exclusively one male and one female, in a public area whisper to each other either for a concerted burts (eg 20 whispers in a hour) or over a sustained longer period of time with big gaps, with no trade, transfer of goods and little or no contact with other characters...

Related to previous, "whispering" = having sex in public or at least making out.
pigeon puncher - a wimp / weakling / newspawn

I have a char that mentally refers to newspawns as "[fresh] Dungers".
He's said it once or twice out loud accidentally, and it generally refers to a newspawn that just sits there doing nothing for a day or two.
The implication is a fairly useless thing that takes up space in town, but has the potential to be useful if processed/encouraged correctly.

I like that one..

It isnt always what you think to those who are thinking that... Some chacters have important issues (Governmental) they need to handle and don't want everyone listening.

It's not even always governmental or necessarily important either, could be just an interesting conversation about random things, thoughts and feelings on the activities in an area etc. too.

Why should that be private though? I always hate it when people say things like that to me in whispers and make sure to answer them out loud and hope they'll get the hint.

There are characters who wouldn't share all their thoughts and feelings with the whole world, the same thing in real life. Sometimes you only confide to a close friend.

Agreed, its tedious to be stuck in a town where everyone is whispering all the time....
There's only one real reason to whisper - thats crime!.
Romancin' or whatever you want to call it should be done in a private place... its totally ridiculous when characters say emote something rude they are doing in a whisper when the whole world would see it for real...
Trade... again 90% of the time there is no reason why this should be private but whispered or not it should really be accompanied by a note/contract...
Governmental bussiness, again should be completed on notes/memos. It's one of the disappointments I have found over time is that, in my time in cantr there are so few places that use notes as a main mechanism of government.. Again if you want to run some Oligarchy of friends then if they had serious talking to do they would go to a private place to do so... doing that in the town centre whilst working is just laziness...

Why should it have to be shared? I had a char that had a long discussion with a person about some different papers on different IG organizations they'd read.
I don't know about you, but I don't like to run around talking about everything in the world to everyone there is. I like to keep my conversations to a few people, rather than spout off to the world.
Some things are meant to be shared for a general consensus, but others are not. I'm not going to talk about my problems with people I scarcely know, or talk about my opinions with people that probably wouldn't listen to them. No need in boring the rest of the town with drivel they might not care to hear or let my words be lost on the majority of people that are there to hear it. Talk to the ones who actually care and don't burden the ones that do not.
Is it really so abnormal to stand to the side with someone and have a quiet conversation? No different than being in a restaurant where you cloister yourselves away in a booth and chat about the weather and disregard other people's conversations. Or how about shopping in a store? You don't get on the microphone and hold your conversation for everyone to hear, no matter how innocent and general the conversation is. You don't hear every conversation that's being had in a room full of people or outside on the streets as you walk; sometimes you might catch a bit of it, but you don't always hear more than that or even know what's going on.

Not only one reason to whisper.
Agreed, romancing should be done in private if it's more than some harmless flirting.
Trade- Ehh, I don't like to talk about what I've got and what I will/have pay/paid for something to people other than my good friends and family... Besides, it's easier to keep up with whispers on things like that rather than sift through everything because there's that "says to you:" thing going on.
The notes and memos stuff really should enhance what is told, not be the only thing. Just imagine, it could be handing notes back and forth for 20min instead of whispering.

I wouldn't have a problem with that, I'd assume notes are an indication of business going on, whispering dishonesty...
Your booth in a restaurant analogy is just the same as finding a room, unless characters have the option of a 'listening in' project!!
Anways back to the jargon....
How about 'spawnmouth' for people who ask really dumb questions Eg what are the laws here..?

First off, IMHO any self-respecting government should have a building to have the leaders private discussions in.
And all I'm saying is that if someone is going to get in a long conversation about something unimportant, why not say it out loud? (it's not really like you're using a loudspeaker or yelling, that would only happen if you typed in all caps. Hearing everything in a single area is normal for Cantrians.) Would anyone honestly find a little talk about a trading deal or whatever more of a 'burden' than a long list of whispers? most would probably be glad to have a break from all the exciting hunting and adding things to projects. Whispering over and over again is about as irritating as knocking over and over again, I think.
Besides, if it's just 'drivel', it looks pretty strange to be huddled in a corner whispering about it like it's something important, and probably gives everyone the wrong idea, besides just being annoying. Cantr isn't like real life where you can tune things out, your chars still get lit up and you still have to read everything whether a person is whispering to another or saying something out loud.

I try to create my jargon in the game, different for every character. It's my pitiful attempt to create some difference cultural elements in different regions of the English speaking world, but just like accents, it rarely spreads from one character to another. I'm afraid that if something was just so clever that other people started using it would be in use on all the islands within one Cantr year anyway. So I'll just have to live with the cultural monotony. *sigh* I do wish people would try to adapt to the culture around them instead of creating characters like themselves or else characters to get attention. I've found that by mimicking the people around my characters (with some modification to maintain individuality of course), in particular those characters in authority, they seem to created bonds and are trusted much sooner by those characters. (Just like real life, who would have thought) [end off-topic-rant]
