My char El Adan predicted that after the SJs took Drojf.

But yeah: The remaining populace of Krif is now fairly well armed and armoured. Thanks to the generosity of one of its oldest inhabitants.
What he chooses to do in Krif from now on will be very interesting.

peace can be a bit uninteresting for us as players, so it isn't all bad the region never stays peaceful

still 20+ game years of warfare and intrigue can get a little old...

But incidentally my char just found Glen Morangie's account of the KFF vs the SJ's. Was interesting to finally know the whole story...my chars at the time were intimately involved in that...the SJs killed one of them and said Gregor Mac Gregor did it.

My character, Rachel Williams, was left in charge of Krif. She's not the ruling type! And I was so mad--my mom told me to wait 10 minutes to get on the computer, and by the time the 10 were up, 27 people were killed! It's mom's fault!!

That's why I'm glad my mom is far enough away to not be a bother :D:D:D
That's also why I am one of the most active players in Cantr o_o
(I'm only off for some classes, some studying/homework, and a few hours of sleep. Man I love having no life ^_^)

Wow... My character now locked up for no apparant reason in Seatown Forest is thinking it would have been better to go on to Krif, even if he would be detained. That would probably make him one of the fresh corpses.  Although he does have a shield...

Not sure that seatown forest is the best place. Their government alarms me (as a player) more each day.

Me too--I have a character there too. It's strange--I'm getting out of there ASAP.

I knew I'd see something about Krif when I checked this tonight...lol...Maynard is going to start claiming he's immortal if this keeps up, once again he's one of the last standing . But who knows what will happen now...I have to say that although this was the last thing I expected to happen in Krif at this time, it doesn't really surprise me, at least that area will keep you on your toes...I wonder what the councils reaction will be?

And I have to agree with everyone who thinks this episode once agains shows how unbalanced the combat system is...there really needs to be some randomness in the combat. In RL things never would have happened like that...those 20 people would have gangrushed the 2 with swords and although some would be killed it wouldn't be a wholesale slaughter.

the whole region will wait anxiously to see how Maynard handles the situation. People are beginning to come outside/back into town, though.

Without getting into a debate on how the combat system should be changed overall, is the following something everyone can argree on regardless of how combat is or may be changed?

You can only hit once per character per real time minute.

Since there are three real time minutes in a Cantr minute that is the equivlant of hitting once every 20 seconds in Cantr terms. The slaughter of 20 people would take 20 minutes at a minimum rather than the 2 or 3 it probally did.

This is not to say that you can't do any other action like taunting, playing other chracters, logging out and logging in again, or with these two trading a sabre back and forth (in fact that would almost be fairly funny having to do that 20 times).

It would also give a little more time for people to react and level the playing field between broadband and dial-up a bit.

It doesn't solve everything with violence but it would make violence a little more realistic and fair.

I was thinking per character not per player or IP. The IP would not be fair to AOLers and the players are independent (even though if your that violent from one account where it would matter are you being a little too violent overall even if your the law?)

Per character would be a better plan, I agree.

don't follow what you mean by per player or per character :?

Personally I think that Maynard should start another Empire, because it seems Krif has gone downhill since becoming a Republic

Per character would be per chracter and per player would be per player?

Ummmm...

Per player would not allow the user to hit twice in a minute with two different chracters.

The only reason combat is as it is, which is a very unrealistic and strange system, is to make it work fairly. People who are sleeping must be given the chance to defend themselves. Auto-hit back functions are not implemented because the characters are controlled by the play, not by little programs.

I would be interested in hearing of a new system that actually works...

And it must be per character. Your characters are seperate entities, not to be mass influenced by one characters actions, as per player would do.

if fighting was a project, it would make it fairer.

the attacker couldn't run away instantly, and perhaps part of the programming could be that you only try to dodge blows (making you harder to hit?) until the player sets the character to fight back.

Perhaps you could walk/run away from a fighting project, but you that does kind of miss the point of making it a project in the first place, unless you only have a random chance of breaking from the fight.

just some ideas to through into the arena
