This is my Goodbye

Postby Dee » Mon Feb 13, 2006 4:22 pm

I've been offended by many people here on the forum, so I don't think I'll be posting again, I also don't know if I'm still going to play the game, although playing the game has nothing to do with me being offended on the forums.

I just want to play peacefully without people knowing which characters I play, so I'll try my best to delete my list of characters off the forums, but I know some of you know some characters of mine.

I don't know if I'm coming back to the forums or not, but if I'm not, I want to say thanks for all my good friends that I met here, they know who they are. Especially my big bro Colonel and my sister Sunni, I love you, and a lot of other people that I'm not going to mention. Thanks for everything.

I hope this isn't because of the discussion about boycotting Denmark? I don't get the oppurtinuty to hear the views from someone living in Africa that often... it would be a shame to see you go. I wish you the best though :)

Dee you can't leave us! Please sis, don't leave.

Now I have to tell you Dee, I am the last person that should say this but I will try, you should not let some of these @#%@# get to you. It gives the sick @#%@#$ pleasure.

I really am sad to see this. And to those that get pleasure out of pushing people away. I just want you to know one thing, you now officially pissed me off. I am not going to lay off of attacking you now and I suggest you watch what you say cause I really am not a nice person to play with.
So be warned when you come on here and post. If you do not want me putting the rubber gloves on and making you feel like a turkey on thanksgiving night you better watch your step!

Dee please don't leave us. I enjoy seeing your posts on here and I miss our talks in the chat room.

*hugs*

I don't know you, but I'll join in the plea.

Please stay!

And death to those who offend you!

Unless you disagree with me politically...

I'm not sorry for anything I said. People have a right to have their own opinions. You take things far too personally. If you gotta be so sensitive then good riddance, I can't feel sympathy towards anyone today.

I will be sorry to see you go. Characters aside, you were a fun person to have on the forums, and I do hope that you come back to us.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We all have freedom to express them, and freedom to argue with people we don't disagree with.

My own opinions have been challeneged and ridiculed many times. That, to me, is hardly grounds to walk away entirely.

None of this ever seemed personal. People were disagreeing with each other, arguing, but it was certainly never meant to be personally hurtful.

Disagreement is not the same as disrespect. And even if people were being disrespectful towards your beliefs, it could equally be said that you were being disrespectful towards theirs.

I cannot imagine any situation in 'real life' where someone can live without their opinions ever being challenged and on occasion disrespected. This forum is no different.

If you are prepared to hold beliefs and opinions, you must be prepared to defend them and confront people who disagree with those opinions. Defend beliefs will most likely only make them stronger.

If everyone left whenever they felt others were being disrespectful, or they had their beliefs challenged, the forum would have no users.
Whoever you vote for.

The government wins.

Different cultures handle debates different ways. Americans love debating and respect others views. Now I don't know what pissed you off Dee but if you are offended because someone has a different view then you...well i'd be surprised.

Regardless of the points just made, it's still sad to see you go... :( I hope you change your mind, but if not good luck and do keep playing Cantr! (and come to the IRC sometimes!) *hugs*

I don't post very often, but I have nevertheless enjoyed your posts, Dee. I hope that you will reconsider your decision to leave. I greatly respect you for holding your ground during the debate when almost everyone disagreed with you. There are very few people willing to take a minority opinion in a losing debate, but these people are, in my opinion, some of the most respectable people in the world. It would be a shame for this forum to lose you.

I swore to myself that I won't be replying to your posts, but here I am doing it.

I'm not walking away because people have different views than mine, nor because they don't agree with everything I say.. I'm not a moron, alright? I also happen to believe in free speech, the one where your state your point of view without lowering those of mines (point views that is) that's what I believe in.

I'm a very sensitive person (I know you'll all say who cares) I know not everything should be taken personally, and that's not what I do.. I just happen to defend my relegion and meanwhile I'm doing that people attack me for doing it!! Then what am I supposed to do?? The best thing to do is to shut up and keep my thoughts to myself, firstly because you guys are a large group and I'm only one person, and secondly because I said all there is to be said and there's nothing more to add, and quite frankly, the more I add the more you attack me, so what's the point? It's all gonna end in an endless argument that's just going to make us dislike each other just like what happened with many others here on the forum, and I can name a few names, but I won't.

I'm not going to quit the game. I might still check the forums every now and then... I'll read my PM's.. And I will reply them.

By the way, thanks to everyone who sent me PM upon reading this thread, it really did make me feel loved around here.

Seko, if you have something nice, say it, if you don't, don't say anything at all. You're the kind of people I'm talking about, often offending for no reason, just because you're in a bad mood.

I guess I should consider you all "net friends", but I don't do to many people here. I'm sure if we were in the same place, we would have been very good friends.
