The theater of the absurd.

It amazes me how easy it is for miscommunications to occure in Cantr. I have two characters in towns near one another. The leaders of these two towns are trying to work together twords a common goal.

The towns don't have radios yet, so couriers are used. Its amazing watching both sides of the communications, and seeing the confusion.

Since this is ongoing, the Capitol Rule prevents me from disclosing details, but I am sure others have been in similar situations. So I thought I'd start a thread where players post times when they have seen similar events and been unable to do anything about it due to the CR...

My first ever character got confused when someone told him he could help out by working on "the projects".

I thought they were trying to enslave me, so I ran away with a pair of shoes and was killed.

I don't think that's what he means. More like, have you witnessed something with one character that your other character knows about, but can't do anything about it. (cuz it's your wrong character)

I've had that happen before.

I recently had someone show up in a town and mention another of my characters to others, and not in a good light, and I cried that I couldn't defend him. :P It was really weird, listening to them discuss my other charrie.

I remember having one of my chars hear another person talking about how my other character was kidnapped. They all thought my other character was dead, it was strange listening to them talk about him as if he died by the hands of murderers when in reality he was enjoying his new life far, far away.

I get a real buzz from hearing about my characters after they have died, if its a note they wrote or people discussing them, it doesn't usually involve misinterpretation but it is interesting to hear other people's perception of what my character is about...

The radio's are great if you have a character on both ends.... I don't mean doing the communicating but there is something about the interaction between two characters worlds....

For a short while, I had two leaders in very proximate locations. What one said would affect the other's decisions, and vice versa. They even attended meetings, although I attempted to stagger those so that I wouldn't be overwhelmed by data. It got too overwhelming, along with the dividing of "who knows what?" and so forth (e.g. my elder's character's son was visiting with the other organization), so that my elder character didn't put up much resistance when the opportunity via spouse came to leave the area once and for all.

However, it would inevitably be the most important decision of his for the rest of his life, leaving behind family and friends.

One character met a woman from another place who kept talking and talking about her past life. But one of my other characters was involved in the past life that she was talking about, and it was interesting to see how she reacted later, and the things that happened that she didn't know about.

i have one character only one town away from another. So in the one town the leader was kicked out and when he ran to the next town he was explaining his version of what happened, and it was totally not what happened. So i saw both sides of the situation and couldn't really say anything. Which really sucked.
