Worst Villains

Postby Marian » Sat Jan 28, 2006 10:47 pm

We had a 'Best Living Villains' topic, so why not one for sharing stories about the worst ones you've encountered? But by 'worst' I mean 'dumb', so I left out the 'living' part in the title of the thread because there probably aren't many dumb villains still alive. :)

I'll start, how about a man in his twenties showing up completely emptyhanded on an unlocked longboat, and then claiming someone broke the lock while he was sleeping but he managed to drag them off and escape?

There is a thread on this but I'm kind of partial to Purple Tortoise being the worst. Then perhaps Ryan McConnel.

But for all you newbies, you wouldn't know much about these so it is all but a moot point.

Is that the mass murderer from Brunoi Fields? Or at least I think it was Brunoi Fields.

Well someone who successfully managed to murder a bunch of people isn't really what I had in mind for this. I'm talking about the really pathetic ones, maybe not villains so much as wannabe villains who were too stupid to live loing enough to accomplish anything.

How about we say "every newspawn thief" and leave it at that, then?

Ineptitude is rarely memorable.

I agree with Sho. Worst villians implies really good ones in my opinion, and someone who grabs the raft on Olip lake and then dies is not someone I consider worth remembering.

The purple queen character was a girl. So they must have been different.

I usually name them "Thief?" when they pick stuff up, and then beat them to death on the road if they leave town.

But that's just me.

That doesn't quite do one of the more interesting characters ever of Cantr justice ;) ... She was an insane woman in Tircqi, who managed to crown herself as queen, then locked up all prominent citizens, who gradually died, one by one, despite their negotiations to get out.

Not to many chars in Cantr combine silly craziness with the power to commit a coup :) ...

(My char was the only one who did talk himself out, promising to his fellow prisoners to release them, but well, he somehow never got to that :) ...)

The only prominiet person she didn't kidnap and murder was Thomas Covenant because she had somewhat of a crush on him and for the fact that he saved her life earlier when she was caught stealing and punishment was death.
