To rklenseth,

For gods sake, rk, the first rule of writing and being an author etcetera is, while taking some advice seriously, not to give a friggin damn about what others say!
Surely you've heard writers on TV and authors talk about this?
They clearly say, 'My friends said it was shit. My editor said it was shit. Many publishers found it shit. Yet I found a publisher who loved it and it was a hit, no matter what everyone else said."
Personally, the chapter one was pure brilliance.
Listen, rklenseth, you don't need to be a sagistic writer among Edgar Alan Poe and all those.
To tell the truth, for those who want to 'escape' reality via a book, they really don't want to be reading deep, extremely-well thought out, planned literature.
No, they want an easy-to-read, easy-to-understand novel/book/writing that has been written as-is and doesn't need afterthought.
Cookiemonster is a complete asshole who has really no right to say anything about your literature.
If you're going to take one or two things away from this thread, remember these. You don't have to plan well to write well, and never listen to what others say if it's going to stop you writing. I repeat, NEVER listen to what someone else says, IF IT WILL STOP YOU WRITING LITERATURE.
One final thing, this is to the idiotic Cookiemonster as much as it is to rklenseth.
If that was the first chapter of a book, I would be DEEPLY interested in finding out more about this place, and what is going to happen in there.
I wouldn't give a f**k if there's no descriptive movement.
He was setting the scene, fool.
Keep up the good work rklenseth, you're a better writer than I and many more people on this forum and while that might not be something to be awefully proud of, (although it might), you should appreciate the fact that you can invent and imagine.
Again, good work.
