It looks like the eating rate is starting to go up.

Yep, I'd agree... glad most of mine are on prepared meats, but some aren't yet...

Well this is sure gonna screw up my feeding arrangements...

Oh well, at least we'll see tomorrow if it's linear or exponential growth.

It was announced ages ago, first the gathering rates will go up, then the eating rates, effectively making the raw foods twice as heavy they were before. That is to make people prefer cooked food instead.

I wouldn't go changing the wiki right away. The rates will continue to change slowly until they reach the value set for their new consumption. I am sure you have been noticing in the month or two before this, how the gathering rates also grew? With some exceptions, the unprepared foods will be gathered twice as fast (with the gathering machines adjusted at the end of the growth, from what I understand), and you eat twice as much per day. With the end goal of what Seko described; to make prepared foods more desirable, while still having it possible to live off of the unprepared food.

When I saw that today, I was like

. If that were a word, that’s what I would have said. I don't think their could be a less disruptive way of introducing the new eating amounts then the way it's being handled. The gather rates first, followed by the eating, no quick disruptive changes, it just flows in a beautiful game planning river.
The nod of Mafia approval goes out to whoever masterminded the switchover plan. You should teach the Department of Transportation a few lessons.

The wiki is going to be kept up to date with the most current values available. Two reasons:
1. It takes hardly any work.
2. People are going to update the information no matter what the official policy is - someone put the new values in even before i knew about the change, for example. I'm not going to revert these changes.

It's started, cool.
Now if only every change could be implemented so smoothly...

Today is the first of a ten step program to update the gathering and nutrition rates. Prep projects will be added before it is over with. (hopefully sooner than later!

*whips himself into action* ) Once it is all said and done, we hope that we will have achieved a better overall balance between the food plucked straight from the ground and the food pulled from an oven. Hopefully there will be even more incentive to prepare traveling foods, and traveling foods will actually be more nutritious than carrots!
I am hoping to give bread and fish a fix too (dig for relevant complaint threads

).

I'm pretty happy about how this change is going.

No sudden, unexpected jump to something different... I'd send the people who planned this out some flowers or something, but I dun know all of em or whoever. O.o So here's a yay.

Compliments on how an implementation is being handled? *doesn't know how to react*

Thanks guys. This recieved a lot of discussion in RD to avoid inducing massive starvation and all around Chicken Little syndrome. We sincerely hope that everyone can approve of the end result and the game will truly be a bit better off for it.
