Stone extensions...

Well, this is something that comes down to "my character would KNOW this, dangit!" ;) so I ask here. Flame away if you wish.
Anyway, one of my chars is about to build a stone extension. This would result in a separate "room" inside the building where he puts it, right? Except I'm FAIRLY sure I've seen a forum post stating otherwise (it said extensions would just make more space in the building). So which is it?

/Hellzon - apologies if I put this in the wrong forum, but support is for more technical issues, right?

It is most certainly a seperate room. The only difference between extensions and other buildings, is that extensions cannot be built by themselves (they must be attached to other buildings). On that note, one thing that many people don't realize, is that any building can be added as another room to a building of the same type (so you can make a two room mud hut by building another mud hut inside of the first).

Right then, thanks for the help. (And you're fast, people!)

Except Stone Buildings hold more than Stone Extensions (obviously, due to size). So one may still wish to build a Building or Hall inside (e.g. Conference Center).

One of my chars was doing this (making a two-room mud house) in Olip West. But then the king sold my house to someone without my permission. :x That really sucked.

Building a building or adding an extension to a buildings adds another room. Now room size is different between an extension and a building.

How is room size implemented?

By weight.

or number of live characters in the room

Umm, but it's still the weight of the characters that matters, right? So there's no need to count how many people there are. It's just that if you put 60 kilos of resources or machinery inside, that takes up one slot.

No ... both weight and number of people are taken into account for room (and vehicle) capacity.

For instance (from the wiki) a Mud Hut has a maximum capacity of 5 people or 400000g . You can get no more into a mud-hut if either of these capacities are met . So if there are 5 people carrying nothing (therefore weighting 300000g in total) and no other resources then the mud hut will be full . Also as it will be if there are 340000g of resources and 1 unburdened person . The person's weight does count towards the maximum weight capacity and as 1 person in towards the person capacity.
