Dragging time

Should it really be this easy dragging people?
Two people in a building with a lock can easily take out a village of thirty people one by one, given a little time and if noone owns a crowbar in the village. If it would take at least a turn to drag someone it would be a little more realistic perhaps?

But doesn't dragging create tiredness?

I don't think it does. And if it does, its not noticeable....Also, if you can build a lock, you should try for a few crowbars.

Theoretically...please go try it and tell us how well it works for you (in 4 days, of course). I think you'll be surprised.

Ok, I might have exaggerated that a bit.
Anyway I find it somewhat unrealistic that they should have the opportunity of dragging even the first person inside, when there are many more people outside, without them having a chance of preventing it.

Currently dragging doesn't produce tiredness that I can see in the code
Tiredness is only produced when working on projects, and hitting others (characters or animals)

Dragging should definitely produce tiredness. In my humble opinion.

it should produce quite a bit of tiredness...especially if they're carrying a lot

Yeah, it's quite silly the weight they're carrying doesn't effect at all. If you load yourself with 15 kilos of wood, you'll still be as easy to drag as with no extra weight. It depends on some invisible attribute (strenght?), tiredness and woundedness. Dragging should really make people tired.
Anyway, what you need in order to imprison a whole village without use of violence:
Preferably at least two assistants, who are active about the same times you are, and can stay around for at least half an hour (no dial-up/ library/school computer).
A locked building WITH a locked sub room, to prevent prisoners from passing notes to the outside world. Make sure no one has a crowbar. Make sure travelling has processed lately. Make sure your friends are awake. And start dragging.
Why three people? - Because there are some folks you can't drag by two people, it depends... Some can be dragged by one. But if even one person is left outside, you are screwed.
After all people are dragged to the main room, drag them to the sub room, starting from the most active one, or the ones that were hardest to drag. It's possible that the weakest ones can't even pass notes. After this, check the yard for any notes that might have escaped your attention. And make sure both rooms are really locked.

It should.
There has been a brutal slaughter in a Dutch town because of this mechanism. Everybody was dragged into a locked cell inside a locked building. Their notes and knocking never reached the outside world.
A terrible tragedy for those inside.

i have niticed that there is a great range in strength of characters i have checked over towns by dragging people against a locked building to see how strong i was in compairison (if i was a strong char and i dragged someone small enough i would get the dgraging failed locked door message) otherwise i wouls see the % of draging i could do, a char on thier self is approximatly 50% give or take a little. point of tsaying all that was
if 2 characters are going to go dragging away an entire village it is possible if they are both among the strongest chars in game because 2 would be able t drag anyone, wereas if you have really weak chars you may need as many as 9 to drag a really strong char... i'm rambling....

Great, you're going to murder the combat system again...

It only makes sense that dragging should take tiredness, though. Dragging is different than picking up and moving... the drag-ee, I've always thought, is fighting back, which is why it takes multiple people to drag him/her.

I though dragging DID cause tiredness ... I remember it doing that. Don't know if it currently does, but I'm pretty sure it did.
I doubt dragging should cause more tiredness than combat, especially when it's spread out over multiple people.
I had a character dragging a note for about two weeks once. It never went anywhere untill I got healed though. That was much later on thoough.
