Planets and Aliens? - CR breech or not?

There's an annoying person in a town to remain anyomus untill it is determined if this is a CR Breech, but the residents know who this is.
He's claiming to be a "lord", not of the town in question unfortunatly, but he's "searching" for his land that he is to be "lord" of, and is validating his claim to the title by claiming he was given his mandate not through being born from a womans uterus (a seperate cr debate I refuse to discuss here) but from belonging to generations of emperors from a land that he doesn't think is on this planet. That he is an alien.
Both those words came up in character. Alien, at least, could be interpreted as being from another place, not nessecarily another planet, but speaking of planets and claiming to be from a seperate one, sounds like a cr breech as not only ooc info, but non human character.
I don't know how implemented kids are, so I don't know if generations is a cr breech either.
In any case, I'll fill in blanks for PD if saying your from another planet is a CR breech, but untill that's figured out, the popmus ass gets to keep what cover he has.

I usually just chalk it up to the character being crazy and then make the decision wether to ignore it, oplay along, or just use him for target practice.
On the spectrum of CR breaches, I personally feel this sort of thing is minor, and much like annoyiong six year old cousins, the best way to get them to stop bugging you is to ignore them. As far as dealing with the RL concepts...if he is crazy, from a cantrain point of view he can just be making all sorts of stuff up and your character can just look at it like we look at Star Trek.

I had been ignoring him, but between him arguing weaponry with one of the higher ups in town, and it being a large town, newspawns feeding into his ravings, he will always find someone to continue his inane RP.
I do hope he simply goes away, since he's now OOC broadcasting to the whole town he wants to argue with me OOCly in cantr. Irritating on so many levels. I just hope one is enough to warrent an offical "shut yer trap" from the PD.

Alright, if there is OOC shinanigans going on then I would either smack him or turn it into PD for sure. That would indicate to me it's not for creative and colorful RP purposes *pokes Seko* but that the player is just being an ass.
Either way...good opportunity to boost your combat skills.

You know what? Observing this thread and the happenings in the town, I think it is more a case of one person who is annoyed, and trying to find some rule to use against a person he or she is personally annoyed with. Why don't you post what that character wrote, rather than interpretting it through your annoyed filter? he offered to explain why he is RPing his character that way, not argue anything with you... Hopefully, the PD will look at the comments and see that one person was RPing a character well, and another is just annoyed, and trying to find some way to get the person who annoyed him in trouble.

Here is what he said:
1301-1: [name removed] says: "OOC: And the person who is accusing me of a possible CRB, please feel free to discuss this with me privately. I will be here for a few hours more, and will be happy to explain the way I RP my character."
anyone else who is in this town can verify this is the truth. He did not offer to debate it, merely explain it.

Furthermore, that character did not claim to be an alien or even bring up the topic of a uterus, as is claimed. If you would like, I could post the entire discussion in here, so people can judge for themselves.

Does Cantr have a sky and a sun ?
Some characters (modelling the details of Cantr on the real world) imagine so, others leave it open to question. Is the formera C-R breach? I doubt it. I couldn't quote chapter and verse, but I'm sure we've been encouraged to allowour imaginations to expand beyond the programmed-in details , and fill in the gaps in the information with common-sense.
There's no point in programming-in a sky. Why clutter up the interface with something that isn't interactive? There are a million little RL details which won't ever fet programmed in for that rereason, but that's not the say they can't exist on Cantror or it's a C-R breach to suppose that they do. The difficulty is inarriving at a consensus about it all.
Is it a C-Rbreach for a Cantrian to suppose he has lungs which breathe in something called air? I don't think anybody's ever complained about that , and I've seen that assumptionall over the place. Yet air has not been programmed-in.
Maybe mentioning other planets is stretching it slightly. But I don't know. I don't know if Cantrians would be able to see other planets (yet Venus is visible in daylight, andI 'm not sure that Cantr doesn't have a night-time), but even so they might well speculate that other worlds exist, and they would probably envisage them as situated somewhere in the sky, or underground, or in some fourth dimension, astral plane or what-have-you, Haven't humans done so since time immemorial? They would have the concept of "another planet ", or some near equivalent, I think.

Btw, according to my COED, a breech is the back part of a gun barrel, or (archaic , sadly ) the buttocks. I'm finding it kinda hard to envisage what C-R breech might mean, but I'm persevering, 'cause it sounds like it might be something pretty comical.

Conversation in question is quoted here. Names removed to protect identities. Bottum up of course.
1301-1: [young woman] says: "Executive power derives from a mandate from the masses! If I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, because of a title I'd inherited by alien origins, they'd put me away. "
1301-1: [person in question] says: "[young woman]. *Laughs* I did not acquire any powers from a woman's uterus, or any other part of a woman. I am a lord by title. My right to rule comes to me from generations of rulers. Not from anywhere around here, of course, I don't even think my kingdom exists on this planet. But I am a person who is destined to rule, and if I can't rule where I belong, I will rule where I end up on this continent. It's not a mysterious power, it is a title that entitles me to power."
1301-1: [young woman] says: "*skeptical* Mysteriously acquired powers derived from a woman's uterus is no basis for a system of government"
1301-1: [person in question] says: "[town elder], this is the typical response... So let me ask, what do I need to do to gain enough trust (barring living in this community for an extended period of time) that will permit you or anyone in this town to view me as worthy as the least of you and have a weapon? And [young woman], you did not have to vote for me, I was born a Lord."
Now, this line of conversation from the person in question is leading to other players having to import OOC topics to continue the conversation with the person in question. So, he may only be creating a small CR breech himself, but he's leading others to cause small CR breeches to continue to "roleplay" with him. Next we may see him claiming to have traveled on a device called a "shuttle", or having been "teleported", or somehow explain
how he or his people traveled between planets.
It may only be a small crack in the CR, but I don't see it stopping or getting smaller on it's own. It seems only natural that it will get bigger and bigger, untill there has to be some kind of stop put to it. I think it'd be easier sooner rather than later.
Solace, from my former account, had the pleasure of RPing with a very mentally distraught woman, who was basically a trekkie. She did a great job of it, and only had one slip that I saw that she corrected herself. I don't have a problem with good roleplaying.
The character in question, however, is a cookie cutter arrogant lord looking for a empire. It is not interesting RP to hear an arrogant young man claim to be entitled to land to rule. It's boring and irritating, and the way they're going about justifying that entitlement is stretching the CR. That's where I question how far the PD wants to let it go.

yeah, other people brought up topics of aliens and uteruses, and introduced them into the conversation, but you are not accusing them of CRB, even though that sort of introduction of OOC info would be a violation. You are just accusing the person you are "annoyed" by. Just because you are annoyed, that is not a breach of the rules. Arrogance is not against the rules, just because you are annoyed by it. I say lighten up, man... Don't take the GAME so seriously.
And besides, it sounds like that character believes he ended up in Cantr, rather than he willingly traveled, like he was lost and stuck. If he would have deliberately said "My country doesn't even exist on this planet" you may have a point about deliberate space travel. But he sounded rather uncertain, very noncommittal. Maybe he's run into a "rules nazi" before, because he wasn't exactly a newspawn...

You do realize you're talking to a social group which, until recently, viewed the topic of 'how much wood does it take to build a hammer' as a forbidden topic that could only be answered within the game?

I think there are people who have been taking this game very seriously for quite some time now, especially in matters regarding IC-OOC informational crossover. Agar seems mild by comparison.

*shrug* to each his own.
There's more than enough space in the game to play fully-realized, developed characters WITHOUT resorting to obvious OOC banter, including claiming you're an emperor from another planet. There is no body of literature or science in cantr to justify even your character's ability to make such a claim.
