Now i always find these entertaining, but people think they are sometimes just newspawns being stupid. i think its nice and healthy for the odd social misfit to suddenly snap in a non violent way and end up in a heap trying to resucitate some mud. Do you have any insane characters? if so, tell us what its like to rp em, and how your treated by other characters. if not, just comment on it.

I have an insane character,he's not insane like if you get too close he'll attack you but he is mentally ill. He doesn't like to talk about it. I think it's fun to play insane characters because of the drama.

People always tryin' to help and want to talk about it.

Jonas/Phoenix is totally nuts. He's feeling really insecure and paranoid, his senses have gone all funky, he feels touch much more intense but sometimes his skin starts feeling numb and only pain gets through it. He likes to share these feelings, waking up others to the reality. (That's mainly by cutting and raping.)
Edit: He'd definately deserve to be neutered. X(

Thats quite scary.... Erm.... Yes well i have a Mentally disabled character, Called Harris, who cant speak properly, and has the mind of a child, even though there is not such a thing in cantr. I was also going to make another insane one, but i decided on a spiritial leader.... same thing in my opinon

Well if disabled charries count, I got Jay, he only knows about 20 words and says them in a funny accent so that some newbie actually thought he was Japanese. He understands most of stuff but gets confused with complicated sentences and doesn't know all the words.
Yeah and Seko is a bit retarded. He also doesn't know all the words and talks funny all the time though there was a time when he was talking almost normal. And sometimes he sees imaginary people, mostly when he's lonely.

Aww.. he sounds sweet.
Hidden motive in this discussion... how do your characters react to religions?

ah.... Hrrrisss! hehe. Yes, i think that the insane and the people suffering a disability can really affect a whole community, if all of those people are true RPers. if you had a cripple put on your doorstep, it would affect you , would it not? lol..... baad example.

Well there's a different topic to religions, but mostly my characters don't like them as most religions I've seen have only one follower who's a newspawn rp'ing poorly and no one gets a heck of their ideology.
Nice to know that someone's noticed Jay, I've been feeling down for him for a while since no one would pay him any attention, he's mostly just working on projects silently because no one would understand what he's saying. Then he went inside to this sanctuary and slept for three or four days but Sabbatai, whom he considered a friend, never woke up to speak to him anymore. Limited by the four day rule a bit.

Most of the "insane" characters, or those with any sort of disability, mental or physical, are unoriginal and just out for attention. In my experience anyway. I don't think I've come across many of the well done characters like that, although I'm sure there are lots of them.

I quite agree. I have no objection to dedicated roleplayers who genuinely try to follow through with their insane and/or handicapped characters. I am, however, disappointed with players who, after creating a character, realize that it is too hard to roleplay someone with an interesting and nuanced personality, and instead make their characters mute, blind, etc. Handicaps should not be a roleplaying crutch.

I have a mute...she was fun to play..difficult because she doesn't write much..only a word or two...so everything I do with her is RP'd action...The place she was became very stagnant, very little true RP.....very ....hard to play in that situation..(not that the RP there was bad or anything,,just not much of it).so (She) made a life changing choice...

Seko, I figured Pheonix was yours, he is ubelievably well played. However, he does need to get his shit together, or someone is eventually going to kill him.

I've got a crazy char locked up in Akypor. Her "friends" are constantly talking to her, telling her to do stuff she doesn't want to (like stealing a boat with people in it). Of course, my char's stay in prison isn't helping her mental health.

I've been meaning to make a char that's illiterate, but I'm waiting for a char of mine to die. I wonder how people would react to that...
