I noticed a couple of simple changes that are good ideas. First, It appears gathering projects now list the quantity to be gathered. Next the drag event now shows who started the dragging.

Both changes are useful and informative. Kudos to the ProgDept.

Not to mention destroying unlocked locks.

However this kind of defeats the purpose of a crowbar now.

How so?

Screwdriver is cheaper, achieves the same thing, and is concealable.

Then again I didn't think of this earlier, I guess crowbars are still useful for crowbarring from the outside. But the main good thing about a crowbar has always been that it's a safeguard against getting locked up.

Yeah, I suppose.

Crowbars are not required to remove unlocked locks?

Hmm...

Well, they should still be required for locked locks. A screwdriver should only remove an unlocked lock...

No, you should be able to remove a lock with a screwdrive, it is the closest thing we have to a lockpicking tool, and there should be something that opens a lock without destroying it.

Erm, I don't think you're taking into account game balance, racetyme.

EDIT: I'd like to see you pick a lock with a screwdriver IRL, anyway.

I agree with Surly. Unless the locksmith was completely demented when he installed it, a real-life lock can only be dismantled when it is open (the weakness of many types of Master combination padlock being an exception that proves the rule). Making the screwdriver a lockpicking tool makes locks pretty much useless for use in prisons.

I believe, as Sho so eloquently put it, that the locksmith is "demented". That is to say, I am perfectly able of starting a lock destroying project on a locked lock without the key. Now, it's my lock, and I'm not keen on replacing it, so I won't be finishing this project... I'd just like some clarification... can you destroy a locked lock? Is my fancy new prison worthless?

i'm telling ya...

make the screwdriver only work on open and broken locks. and make crowbarring result in a broken lock.

or just make the screwdriver only work on open locks...

Agreed, Kroner. Either is reasonable.

Sounds good to me too, however if we are really going to be knitpicky about this then you can beat the shit out of a door until it breaks with just about anything, including your own body.

Depending on what the door is made of, of course.
Buildings are built with NOTHING but stone. So maybe the doors are stone? Or maybe the doors are just empty doorwars, and 'locks' are big iron doors?

True enough, never really thought of that one before. however a wooden door can definitely be busted open, with any kind of lock and any numer on it.
