CANTR Webzine: "WHO STOLE MY NOTES?"

In case any of you have forgotten, we need articles for the webzine.

I would really like to see some more history articles in the future, like the Cantr City story in the current issue. :) Specifically, I think the histories of Ladvicitavoi and the KDS region would be very interesting. . . . But those are just examples. :)

Also, as you can see from the past issues, we're including Cantr-related puzzles. So far we have a lingual puzzle, long division riddles, and a crossword, so more of those would be good, along with anything else, really, as long as it's Cantr-related. Someone could make a Cantr boating puzzle, for example. . . .

We could include more reviews about other sites of possible interest to Cantr players, such as the Unilang article from the first issue.

In the past, we're discussed including short stories (Cantr-related, of course) and funny or well-played Cantr episodes, but we've never actually had any of these things submitted. :) Someone should be the first. . . . :)

And of course, opinion articles on Cantr or the recent changes to Cantr. I know many of you are good at that kind of writing, from skimming some recent forum topics. Or articles like the character development one from the current issue . . . how to roleplay better or something like that.

Hmm, what else. . . . We'll take articles written in languages other than English. :) Is there anything interesting with the Polish area? With as many Polish players as there are, maybe one of you could write an article? It would be nice if it was translated into English along with whatever original language.

Anything else that you can think of would probably be good too, as long as it is related to Cantr, doesn't contain anything that could be easily abused in a CR breach, and isn't about any recent IC events.

If you have anything to submit to the webzine, please send it to webzine@cantr.net, preferably by the end of next week. If you really can't get it in by then, we can take it up until the end of the month, but it would be really nice to be good to go before then.

Since I'm particularly interested in KDS history, I've been monitoring the in character literature for a thorough pre-Peace era history book. I know that at least three characters have mentioned doing such a comprehensive piece (one of whom was alive at the time), but I have yet to see the outcome of it.

There are documents and short pieces about certain individuals and events that I have seen, but nothing as thorough as I would've expected.

Would you like Edwin Edmunson's "Tale of the Gambling Goat"?

That was quite popular IG... :)

I hate to say it, but unless it's written by someone who still has a char with access to all the relavent IG notes, none of the historys written OOC will be as thorough as they could be otherwise. And as the older chars die off there's less of a chance of those historys being wrote.

@ Ephiroll:

Agreed.

It would comedically coat the next 'zine issue quite well, I reckon.

Or was it cloak?

We're still looking for more from you sexy peeps...

Two ideas I quite like are some articles from players who play in another language, possibly written in that language. Cantr is a multi-language game unlike so many others I've seen, and it's a great part of it, I'd really like to see that reflected in the 'zine.

I'd also like to hear about the Wiki - I know some people spend a lot of time on that, and I'd like to hear what they have to say - some explainations on the style, how it's being designed and set-out. What the expectations for the Wiki may be, what people would like to see in it etc. etc. Those are just some ideas.

I also know some of you have produced atrwork for use in-game. If anyone has any, I'd be interested to see it, and get it displayed on the 'zine of you like.

As always, we're open to pretty much anything, as long as it's interesting and relevant. Those above are just a few ideas. There are many more, here's a list of things we've thought of - but the ideas don't stop there...

I glimpsed through the new 3rd issue and am impressed, like usual. :)

There's just one disappointment!

The third part of the Ranger's Tale (involving the death of Maynard) did not coincide with ephiroll's article about Maynard (which was very insightful, or rather, a thorough reflection). However, as I think about it some more, it makes good chronological sense for that part to follow this issue.

Speaking of the instance, now that I am, how Alicia handled, or rather mishandled Maynard certainly helps to show how come Seatown Forest has fallen into the situation it is in today.

Finally, ...
I liked the Poetry Corner, though I was amused when I saw the third one was...well...about spinach.

Good job Nick RC and Sarah, and Sunni, too!

Nice job on the statistics, Farmer. The Cantrian food wheel was very interesting to see. :D All those carrots...

I just submitted my first article. A comic strip ... of sorts. Kinda falls under that funny ic/ooc stories. Fictional, but based on in game hearsay.

Love the stats! They're the first thing I read every edition! I think I'm contributing alot to that salted meat wedge, as at least one of my chars is wandering about with ten kilos of salted meat. Mmm bacon!

We're agreeing too often.

edit: Although I actually enjoyed Jos' currency article most this edition, but the statistics are consistently interesting.

Could we see island based statistics next edition, maybe? Comparing populations of the islands, and things like that? So far you've been coming up with new statistics every edition, but you're going to find that hard to keep doing the longer this webzine is around. :)

I don't think (the other) Nick will have ANY problem at all thinking of new and interesting stats, Nick.

He has so far, don't get me wrong. I just imagine it will start getting more difficult.

edit: Just because he may make it look so easy, dosen't mean he isn't putting a lot of effort into it even though it's difficult.

 Is that a compliment?!

But I agree... finding stats must be difficult...to continue finding new, interesting stats will become harder....but...I think I will enjoy everyone he finds!

The webzine is great..I enjoyed reading it every time it has been released!

If he ever runs out of ideas, he can just ask, and I'm sure he'll get plenty from the Cantr populace.

And then again, if he doesn't, he can always revisit stats he's done stuff on, let's say a year ago, and see how it has changed.
