Whyyyyy me?!?!

Now that I have been back for a little bit, and have sorta gotten my cantr legs back as it were, I am here to rant, and rant I will!

Since coming back, I have noticed, that it seems that the overall RP of cantr has severly degraded....there are still plenty of good RPers out there, but with only 5 characters each of them has already met several people who seem to refuse to act within the confines of the cantr world. One of them even seems to be surrounded by 2 such people, who, by the way they are both on at the same time, I would guess belong to the same person, who consistently make reference to non-existent things in cantr that are in the real world.......*largest sigh in the world* Will it ever die?

[/rant]

In other news, at least everyone seems to be using good spelling for the most part....

Attack them and accuse them of worshiping and evil force.

I've ranted a few times about how bad the RP can get in Cantr (not that I'm brilliant), what's nice to notice is that even the worst can get very good at it - the premise of Cantr is very strange for those who've never RPd beyond playing a MUD or the like - it takes a while, but many seem to click after a while and get going really well

In my opinion, for however little it is worth (and those of you who are starting to know me, know that I am a bit opinionated *smiles*) I think the sleepers are just as bad as the worst newby roll players. These are the ones who sleep for days, even weeks at a time, wake up with a grunt and a snort, say something stupid like: "Uh--- sorry I slept so long, hmm, I think I will make some new laws for the town." They burp, snort again, make some laws or changes without having a clue, and then they are not to be seen again for another week or more.

Make new laws for the town? They don't even know who is IN the town any more, and wouldn't have a clue what the town even needs for laws at this point.

One of my characters spawned in a town where there were around 6 or 7 people, who were all seriously poisoned with this so called sleeping sickness. Town rules stated no hunting, no farming until you speak to the town leadership first. After two days of standing there in the public area calling out, looking at my fingernails, my character finally up and left. The next town, same thing, the next town after that, same thing. She is now headed for her fourth town. She had some specific goals in mind for her life, but they have been reduced to a new, lessor hope of merely meeting someone who is actually alive and functioning.

I don't think it's right for people to take up a function in a town, especially one such as a town official, deputy, commander, etc, where they have a certain responsibility, and then only check in on occasion, if at all.

Much of Cantr is filled with manufacturing shops, little businesses, official buildings and organizations, etc., and half the time you can walk in looking for this or that, need to do some trading, or perform some function according to the place you visit, and you wind up standing there in building full of 20 people, calling out over and over again, only to, in the end, wind up walking out the door. After literal days of standing there, not a soul responded - didn't even know you were ever there.

Yes, I know people sometimes get busy and cannot play their characters. But, at least hand the ball off to someone else who can stand in place for you - geeeze!

I think these players who have lost their flair for playing Cantr should at least come on for long enough to hand off their responsibilities to another character who actually does want to play, so that things can keep moving.

In my slightly less than humble opinion, the sleepers of Cantr are really worse roll players than the newbies who don't yet have a clue.

*sits back - lights a smoke and reaches for her coffee* :?

I'm sorry :( , but I had a few characters of mine fall asleep as well because I'm busy IRL.

But I agree on you that if you have a charrie with any importance in the village you should arrange that someone else fills your position. And so I did.

Oh, and may I add to your rant that before a charrie falls asleep he should give the stuff back he has borrowed from others? WHERE ARE MY PLANERS?!?!?!?

Oh, and may I add to your rant that before

Oh, dear, that wasn't a rant *smiles innocently* Why, when I posted that I had only had my first pot of coffee. No, that's not a rant. Just my thoughts on the sleepers is all 8)
