Eggs? Milk?

Postby Nixit » Mon Aug 15, 2005 3:26 am

Someone recently got eggs and milk from a hawk and a goat!

I hope you mean resectively, otherwise we're gonna be hatching goats and milking hawks.

LOL, now that would be something to see. I like it and I think it is going to be pretty neat.

I hope that if there are any changes to EXISTING baked goods, that there are also CHANGES to baked goods.

reduntant, but bear with me.

If say, pancakes now need some egg, they damn well do more than the pancakes of old. If we have to chase around pidgeons and KILL them to get eggs (I'm going to start referring to these IC as some type of internal organ untill I see some get laid), then the scarcity and possible EXTINCTION of birds, of all types, will make pancakes a delicacy unparalelled, so should reflect that.

Most birds are easy to splatter, and there is a anit mountain goat sentiment in large areas of cantr, so I hope there has been a reproductive tweak applied. A SMALL, TINY, NEAR INFIMESTIAL (sp?) tweak, not suddenly the existance several magnitudes of pidgeons.

There are pigeons everywhere! It's like Alfred Hitchcock is making a movie in Cantr!!!!!!!

It's kinda sad that you have to kill and animal to get it's milk.

This is a cool implimentation but maybe the eggs should just fall to the ground you have birds in the area...

But this far nothing in Cantr just "falls to the ground". Character muscle power is required to get any resource, be that through hunting or harvesting or processing. Now suddenly there would be some things appearing on the groud without no one dying or projects finishing. Who would claim ownership to it? The fast or the ones with best weapons? Some newspawn goes Easter egg hunting and gets assaulted by a guy with a sabre because the laws say no picking up things from the ground unless you can prove they are yours.
"But, but.. they came from that bird's behind!" the poor kid sobs with tears in his eyes.
"Rubbish!" says the town leader, "I will not listen to such nonsense. Off to the jail with you."
The newspawn is dragged into town jail and the town leader collects all the eggs and makes a huge omelette. And dies of a heart attack, thanks to the cholesterol. Jos be praised.

Sure, why not? Whoever said life was fair? :)

But seriously, I think eggs and milk should be a resource like iron, wood, etc. that is limitted in quantity by the number of egg-layers and milk-producers. That way, just like any other resource, it would require those big strong muscles.

On a related note, has anyone opened up a dairy yet? I expect to see them cropping up all over the place :)

hey...
maybe, taming could be introduced... taming horses, goats, hens and all those animals out there... (if its simple to program seeing there's so much on the list) farms could open up... more to eat, horses to ride... we'll have mounted knights at last... you don't really call a guy with a longsword and iron shield riding a bike a knight... not at least in the medieval sense...

I think the individualation of animals will come, as well as the introduction of grass/hay, and then perhaps cages, coops, and paddocks.....not sure how, but I know this is a step towards animal domestication. And dibs on first Cantr Zoo! I need a Swedish gorilla and a Burgeoese elephant asap!
