Wrong side of the bed?

Postby Misty » Sat Aug 13, 2005 5:15 pm

*pouts her lower lip* Hey, we were having a descent conversation about clothing and colors, and I had some specific questions I was awaiting comment on. It seems as though Mr. Anthony Roberts might have got up on the wrong side of the bed, or, by the sounds of his post maybe rolled right off onto the floor. Maybe he rolled onto his dog and killed his dog, I don't know. But grumpy people shouldn't be so rude as to overwhelm other people who are not grumpy by shutting down their conversation, should they?

Yeesss, I failed to read through and see that the topic was discussed, and thank goodness I am not within arms reach of this mean person - he would probably take up sword against me! But, at the same time, I didn't force Mr. Anthony Roberts to read the post I started - it was after all, ignorable if he didn't want to participate in the conversation.

*looks over at Anthony* Well, I don't know, but maybe he could use a good back rub. That usually loosens my BF up when he gets grumpy!

This ain't a suggestion to my view. And he's been a bit over-enthousiastic lately but at least suggestions are processed fast, that's a good thing. Misty, you haven't been here for long and I know you're all excited about coming up with something cool that just gotta be added soon because it's so great, but things are limited by the existing structures, and another thing is most things have already been suggested many times before and unless you can be some new view into it, it doesn't help the matter, just takes more space. Anthony may be a bit annoying but his actions seem to be well justified.

I'd have locked it too... I've been a bit lazy in terms of locking repeated suggestions recently - I never get there early enough for it to be fair... (and I started to feel sorry for pie...)

sorry misty - but at least be consoled that it is very difficult to come up with an idea that hasn't been suggested before. There is a list of the most common suggestions at the top, and it is always strongly advised to use the forum search before suggesting - or you'll end up on the wrong side of (the good natured) wrath of some of us...

If you find that it's been suggested before - bump the topic by adding your own thoughts. That way it gives other people who haven't seen it before a chance to read what's been discussed about it before.

*sips her coffee as she looks at the screen*

I completely understand locking the thread, it was redundant. What I don't understand is the blatent rudeness.

Proper netiquette, the last i knew, does still exist.

In reading through some of the other posts here, I see a lotta bah hum bug'n going on.

I think some people just don't enjoy things in life anymore. They get bitter, old, consumed in their own misery and grief. *shrugs a shoulder* Fine. Get off the public boards if you can't be descent. Those with negative attitudes will have a hard way to go to try to negatively influence those of us who have positive up beat attitudes.

Now, hallucinatingfarmer has been descent to me. He is someone I would put a little extra effort into doing that back rub for him *smiles*

*looks up in thought* I think if I were running a public site, such as this one, I would make sure everybody who worked with me on the site, knew enough to be cordial. I guess it would be my goal to welcome people, make them feel comfortable, make them want to stick around. Thennnn, they in turn would be happy to bring more friends to the site. But of course, that is an attitude of success. My BF is working his way to success in the business of computers, software and all that techy stuff. I am constantly exposed to seeing him smile when he doesn't really want too, and taking extra time to accomodate, when he would really rather be with me - in the hot tub *smiles*

*glances over at him as he stares into the other computer screen, doing whatever it is he does on there*

*smiles* I am young, I am still enthusiastic - I hope to be able to remain that way.

*sighs* *sweeps a hand through her hair* *reaches for her drink*

I don't care to fight with him. I just hope the poor guy can get himself into a better mood. *smiles innocently*

Oh, Misty, I'm just very misunderstood. I get it when I speak too. I say one thing, but the tone I use comes out as very "rude" when I clearly don't mean it as such.

I have a job in customer service to help me tone down. And I'm learning! Instead of saying...

"Do you have copies?" (Consumer replies "No") "Well, the rebate form DOES ASK for you to make copies."

I now go...

"Do you have copies as the rebate form requested of you?"

It's much more professional, and doesn't seem snappy/rude.

But doing so on the forums is something very difficult, and not just for me. For Nick, too. Bloody bastard. (That's a joke. Nick and I are pretty good friends, I'd say, there's no bad blood between us.)

The point I'm getting at is... a lot of people think I'm a prick because I'm a mean guy, or because I have a lot of "powers" (Especially with the recent promotion.) - However, this is not the case. At least, it shouldn't be. I'm not a mean person, I really am a humourous, loving, and soft-hearted person. I just take my job very serious when it comes to suggestions (Being the Resources Department Chair, and all.), and at times, I do become annoyed that the "Read this FIRST" thread is actually NEVER READ. So, I'm taking it upon myself to get people to learn to read, such as yourself, Misty :) Read please! :D (That's a joke, too! Nothing to hurt you, it seriously is a joke. A lot of my comments is just me in jest, really! So, I bet a lot of the grumpyness you read are just jokes that you didn't know.)

You REALLY have to get to know me before you get comfortable with me, I suppose. And even then, people don't get used to me. I have my pros, and my cons.

The fact of the matter is, I'm glad you've brought up this topic. At least I get a chance to explain my actions publically, to let not just yourself, but others know, that I'm not a Scrooge.

...Well, I am when it comes to money. But not Cantr. :D

@ Wichita: I am into that, you're very accurate. Misty, if I step on your toes, step back. But be sure you're single when you do it. I don't want your boyfriend coming after me...

@ Kinvoya: I'm you're bitch? Yeah right. Get back here you bloody footrest!

*says to all* I must say I had the same thought about Anthony. I was very surprised to hear that he is a staff member and probably a damn good one as he has been "promoted". His answers are clear though.

*turns to Anthony*
And when I'm not in the mood of reading your posts, just as misty suggested (a good suggestion) I just don't read 'em.

I can live with you nowadays, but you made it tough. :)

It's a shame though, you never answered the "boxing ans damage" thread...

If there was only a door, I would show you we could get through it together.
Not that good.
