If I start a character and he gets an idea to start a religion and acts as though he had past experience before spawning of being with the diety in his religion is this ok?
BTW, he does this for the material gain.

Well I do it... because God is in a very deep part of me and I can´t avoid it... but if that is wrong I don´t know...

I think it is normally accepted by most everybody that so long as you aren't ripping off an OOC religion or organization you are free to introduce whatever cockamamy theory you want to try and sell people on. Motivation is also completely up to you so long as you remember to stay true to your character and not conveniently insert your personal OOC information and motovations.
I happen to play a religious figure that speaks of visions and messages from the great beyond.

It is a lot of fun...for me anyway, though she seems to be rather well recieved most of the time.

I don't mean a RL religion. I meant it as just something to RP.

Exactly what I am looking to do. Thanks.

OOC is Out Of Character
Cockamamy is hair-brained or crazy.

I think I can´t do that... If nobody in Cantr likes it... you can throw me up there´s no problem.

Evelyn it is against the rules to talk about The Bible and Christianity in the game, I think you can do it freely here on the forums in its own thread, but your CHARACTERS must NOT know about Jesus, must NOT know about The Bible and must NOT know about Christianity.
I am a member of the PD and I am telling you not to do it, please do not have your CHARACTERS talk about these things, they are not YOU. They must have their own personality and views of their life in-game, with no out of game influence.

I think the players police that sort of thing quite-effectively in game without resorting to the PD. Several of my characters have encounterd charries raving about strange things. Usually they are shunned or locked up.

Don't forget the killing of the crazies who wake up and demand free iron or tools or try to impose new laws.

And the bit about having experiences before your 20th birthday, no.
It says on the site (somewhere...) that characters don't have histories of things that didnt happen in game.

Ah. But if you want to make stuff up, who is to stop you? Are we not allowed to play liars and nutters in Cantr?

Let the other characters decide wether your story is real or not. If Seko wants to think babies come from the lady's bellybutton then let him go right ahead.

That particular form of madness is aggrivating, because often people seem to disregard the fact that (most of them) are certain that no such thing could happen, so it's like... "Oh, you did all that before you were twenty? I don't remember existing before 20, or seeing anyone else do so, but that still makes perfect sense."

Does this apply to all RL religions?
