Strangely Iv noticed in almost every mmorpg/mmog theres always ben like a adoption agency where you can adopt a n00b or something

. will there ever be a "Adopt a newspawn" in cantr?

. I mean you could like have the newspawn by your side all the time and feed em and once there a year old release them into the wild

That's not the way this game works, sorry. Each of your chars is different and in a different setting (hopefully). The object of the game is for them to make their way in the world. They might find some other char who will help them or they might get attacked. Probably they'll get ignored unless they so something illegal or interesting.
That's the fun of Cantr. It's unpredictable and unprogrammed. It's up to you to make your chars life interesting from his or her very first hour.
Good luck.

Not the prostitution discussion again! NOOOOO!!!
Actually, I agree that this type of thing shouldn't be necessary. Maybe we should actually encourage new players to look for a job or join a tribe/government/organization immediately until they get used to the game. This might help keep them interested. Other than that, the game works just fine without an organized program like this.

It seemed to me that what Ovault came up with sounds a bit like some of the ideas in the endless "Children" thread.
Anyhow that's over in Suggestions, some way back, which is actually where this thread belongs too.

Maybe instead of calling it adoption we could make it a mentor/protege or apprentice/master program.

That sounds alot more accurate

. The whole adoption thing tho was just meant to be a dumb funny thing I wasnt being serius so dont get critical X) . Now that you mentioned it tho it actually sounds like a good idea ....

And certainly something your characters can pursue in game. Start one yourself somewhere. Or ask if anyone wants to adopt you. Good luck with that.

The IRC is a good place to go with newbie questions...
If anyone's there...
Otherwise, we're all pretty friendly in the forums - there just aren't enough constantly active players for a mentor scheme to work I don't think...

My char used to yell at everyone in Krif because they didn't give enough support to newspawns. Does that count?

Now she pretty much ignores the ones in her town. Jaded hypocrite much? What? I had a lot more free time then.
