Has anyone ever had this problem

It seems like anytime that you are unable to get to the computer for a while and then come back to playing that it is really hard to get back into character :( ...I was gone on vacation for about a week and when I got back all,but those that were important within the society, of my characters had been forgotten.

I've now gotten into the habit of neglecting most of my characters and only focusing on thse that are still with it...even them, at times, are very hard to play with because I'm having to pour through days of daily reports to even figure out what is going on...one of my characters came back to find himself locked into a little room all by himself...it seems as if he was put in there the day after he went to sleep...I couldn't seem to figure out why it was that they locked him up...he had been well known and overall well liked...I still havn't figured out the reasoning behind it all now that I think about it...but hey what can you do.

I'd love to here if I'm the only one who seems to have this problem :?

It's possible your char was put into that room for his protection. Has he knocked or sent out a note to let them know he's awake?

I often come back and play it as though my characters have been sleeping for a while and don't know what has happened lately. Then you can have someone who knows tell you, which is easier than pouring through logs. It can be difficult, and I think everyone tends to focus on those charries with which they have the most interesting lives or connection. Don't worry abotu that too much but try to figure out what makes the others unique and play that too.

I was recently gone on vacation for a week and a half and experienced the same thing. Seemed like everything I remembered last happening was ancient history to everyone else, and I was way behind. You have to readjust and gradualy it'll all kind of come back... I hope :?

Yes, it is very hard. Even when my character has to leave town for something. When they come back sometimes it's hard to get back into a role especially if another character has fallen asleep and is holding up progress...

Anyways...it's hard to say what to do in a situation like that, that's why I just try not to be gone for very long. Other than that I apologize for my sleeping and ask someone to fill me in. *shrugs* I mean...what can you do.

I'm getting exactly the same - my less active characters have almost hit a coma, and those that were my most active are now very sleepy.

The trick is to get them in a position in character where they either don;t have that much to read (in a building) or they're not expected to be totally clued up as to the day's happenings - let characters around you know you're sleepy, or getting memory loss, or something... The you can get by with just scanning the day reports, or just reading the most recent events - and delegate work where you can...

I had a character that basically sent herself into a kidn of exile...inside of her home. It was almost the same, as she only knew key individuals, and could not understand these new fangled rules..etc.

I once left for an entire summer...to make matters worse, it was the summer of the time anomaly so once time 'reset' it was actually BEFORE I'd made arrangements for all my characters to survive the time I was gone...by the time I came back (a few hours after my account was deleted from inactivity) I was heart-broken, but I suppose it would have been very hard to pick up where I'd left off, anyway.

Whenever I click on a character name I instantly recall all previous history, friends, enemies, and goals of that character. So I am pretty much always in character.

How do you do that? Is it written down in your characters inventory or something?
