Advertising Cantr

The number of players in Cantr is growing drastically recently. We're now around 1800 players! This is mostly due thanks to loads and loads of new Polish players, which in turn is thanks to a few Polish players mentioning Cantr on many Polish forums. And not just mentioning them - they keep talking about Cantr on those forums, so that their threads stay active / on top.

In other words: while our main advertisement consists of listing Cantr on game sites, the biggest influx of players comes from forums. We've seen this with the Swedish region and now with the Polish one. In the English region we have many more players, so potentially many more forum visitors.

For example here: http://www.onrpg.com/ ... They have a forum that is quite busy, and I mentioned Cantr in a few players. Why not help me and start talking there about Cantr? :) ... Or for example the forums of mmorpg.com. Or anywhere else basically :) ...

PRUT, any additional comments? :)

I'm convinced that potentially Cantr could have many more players. More players means: 1) more characters to interact with; 2) more exciting power games (thanks to bigger cities); 3) more donations and advertisement income, so we can afford eventually an even better server, or paid advertisement, or ... whatever :) ...

So, vote using the links on the site, and talk about Cantr everywhere, whether on game-related forums or otherwise. It's in your own interest! :)

And this plea holds even stronger for all non-English language groups - surely they all have a similar potential to the Polish region, so it must be possible to have active, large, vibrant language areas in most of them! :)

Just another little thing :
Be wary of where you advertise, make sure that it's alright to before doing so (some don't welcome this). Otherwise it may become a little frustrating... :?

That is a very good point. We do not want to be rude about it and we do not want to give off the wrong impression to people either by posting 100 times every 5 minutes on one forum, so be nice. :D

Now get out there and spread the word!

Try to not puting post as an advertisement (in comercial sense) but as an announcement. Because Cantr is such good, that You simply cannot keep this information just for yourself and you MUST share it with others

This is true public relations

I think I do a fair job of advertising Cantr on these forums :-P

*glances at the banner sig* If you want to use the image, here is the link to the version I host, http://www.geocities.com/czneddie/image/cantr.gif , for I don't know where the original version is hosted from.

It helps if you play around with the HTML so that the banner itself links to http://www.cantr.net .

It would be nice if we had a code that we could paste as a signature that linked to cantr via the banner.

The code is:

Code: Select all

Nitefyre told me once :) and I use it on other forums

I have a few images made but a few weeks ago I lost my image software. (Don't ask) And well I am unable to make any more images until I find another one that I like. So, go to my web page and you can use the ones I have there right now or wait until I add the other ones that I have already made.

If you want to put that HTML banner/link in a regular (personal) website (or on forums where standard HTML format is used), it will work. However, I can't figure out how to make a banner link (to cantr) with the url/img functions on the forums.

I'd use it if only the grammer were correct.

I know, I didn't make the banner.

I noticed. It should be "Your imagination is the limit."

I have made a Cantr club in Bolt! Bolt has loads of people so it's bond to bring in cool folks. I used Jon's Banner. I like it and the hyperlink works for me. :)

Grammer doesn't matter to me. It's the graphics that will atract. Not everyone is picking about grammer like the people of Cantr. :P

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.cantr.net" title="Play Cantr II" ><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/westerly/graphics/play-cantrii.png" width="80" height="15" alt="Cantr"></a>

And here's how the little button looks: Image
