Yeah, I saw that Lopan was still kickin' last time I was in KF. Blind now, evidently.

Yep. Blind... Of course he still doesn't know about this new Archprelate. He is considering returning to Kwor (for the first time in 25 years), but he's not sure whether to leave the Monastery. Truth be told, he's confident that the Father will show him the way but doesn't want the worship to cease in the Monastery. Complicated religious issue...

I had been wondering about that myself. My character has just discovered the problem, well... about 4 days ago... and isn't sure wether he's in the position to clear things up. He will be making his decision soon hopefully... Stupid glorious politics...

Well the archprelate (the new one) left for Karnon a while ago I think.

You know, I don't think you should be communicating about your chars or other players chars' on going activities in the forum. You seem to be giving each other info that your chars shouldn't know about. I see way too much of this going on lately and it bothers me.
I know everyone says they won't use the info ic but I think they do. It can also give out info to other players who might not want to know it or who might not be playing within the rules and will use it to their advantage in some way.
In this case it's pretty innocuous (I think) but I frequently see people giving out pretty sensitive information and I think we should start calling them on it more. Saying something like, "Cantr guy is on his way to Cantr town to seek vengence but don't use that ic or you'll be cheating" is just foolish and unfair to everyone, in my opinion.

Kinvoya is correct. But it's very difficult for us to control people doing it.
I'll take this opportunity to remind people that the four-day rule does include not discussing things at all if they are more important. Nothing should really be discussed until knowing about it will affect noone.
We can't control your private IM usage... but bear that in mind on the forums!

Okay, if you want to be petty about it... I'll shut up. But this information, and any other information I've ever posted on this forum accidently or otherwise, has no important bearing on the game.
If I really wanted people to know what I was doing I could, as you say, do it in a way you could never trace. So go and do something more important than whinging at me. Isn't the CD supposed to be some kind of link between the staff and players? Maybe you should do more of that rather than preventing players talking to other players.

Then everyone involved would be better off.
Rant over...

Sorry to correct you, Surly, but as part of running the forums we're supposed to prevent information that could lead to breaches etc. being public... Which is a very difficult task because unless someone has a character involved then they never know what impact the information might have.
(Note To Self: very soon, get round to writing that formal public version of the forum rules...)

Seeing as I have requested on numerous occasions for a write-up of things such as the 4-day rule in a single document, don't use that excuse with me.
The CD description wrote:This department will be responsible for supporting our community of players outside the game itself and assist in communication between the players and the staff. This department will be responsible for moderating the public forums and our IRC channel and could later be involved in additional features related to our out-of-character community. deas for this are in the pipeline. The department will also be assisting in keeping track of feature requests and bug reports on the forum or elsewhere and communicate with the respective departments about them.
For now, we are simply looking for IRC and forum moderators. People that can be a friendly mediator in online fights, that are willing to remove truly obnoxious chatters, and that know when to interfere and when not.
Where there does it say that you have to prevent me from saying anything about my character? How can anything I have said be interpreted as an attempt to breach the CR? Stop being so damn petty about everything. You have plenty of work with the unexplained player bashing that currently seems to afflict these forums, why spend so much time irritating me?

Sorry if I am irritating you.
There's only one of me; chasing down anything that needs dealing with - such as player bashing - is difficult. I can't check every topic on the forum that often, normally. And since I'm the only active CD member as for as forum moderation is concerned - two of my department are MIA, two are specifically for the newsletter, and one, from all I've ever seen, doesn;t even EXIST - things often go unnoticed.
Which is why I often make appeals for people to PM me if they see ANYTHING that needs dealing with on here. I usually receive the notification emails within an hour or so - unless I'm out or asleep or away or something - and can take any action immediately.
Alternatively, email
communications@cantr.net - you might get hallucinatingfarmer's attention if I'm not around that way. Both ways will alert me as quickly.
