Hello I'm New To The Game

Postby Ahoyhoy » Tue Jun 21, 2005 5:27 pm

I just started like 10 minutes ago and was wondering if anyone had some advice? Currently i'm gathering wood and then im going to gather some metal to make an axe. Is that what I should be doing?

I would suggest saying something (in-game) like "Hi.... I'm so and so. I just spawned here and I'm collecting wood. Is there something else I should be doing instead?" :)

First of all I'd like to welcome you to the world of Cantr.
Second, most things you are going to have to find out in the game. Not many people are going to give you the answers on the forum.
It takes some learning but once you get the hang of it you won't be able to stop. :P

Why wouldn't people give me advice? I would give them advice? It seems like a simple enough game. I just hope someone doesn't attack me and kill me or something.

Some of things you ask should be found out in game as per the Capital Rule. We are always willing to give advice as players as to OOC aspects. Now IC advice depends on the nature of the characters you ask.

OOC = Out of Cantr (or out of game)
IC = In Cantr (or in game)

Sure you'll get advice but it'll be like " play as your character and not as yourself. Your charries know nothing of the Real World " and so on. Advice not answers.
much easier to find out in game

Thx. I just got some food from some guy for free. He's coo. Welp, here's to hoping I don't die. You can die in this game right? I saw a dead womans corpse and I'm assuming she was a real character. [/i]

Yes, you can die. And all the characters are real. :)

Yes, it is quite possible to die. Try not to let it happen, but most places are pretty tame right now, and unless you spawned in the middle of a war or fortress or oppressive government, you have little to worry about except starvation.

I'm trying to get a job right now. This guy told me to get a job at the warehouse. But I knocked on the door and noone answered so I dunno.

Unless your character wants to die or has something to die for.

Be patient. It could take a day or more for someone to respond. :)
