Those questions are of the sort that you should try to find out the answers to in game.

Maps are good things in addition to asking others.

I have a question,I wanted to keep my mouth shut till my characters hit 30 but I got to ask,Where the hell do people in Quill get off telling me OOC what ideas I may air and what I may not. That`s BS and if you only use what is in game Than the words senator, democracy and quite a few others would never have sprung up.I should be able to argue what type of government it is and suggest alternatives and mention how things can be different. This is not cheating and I am not breaching the rule to my understanding for my character is developing in a highly political enviroment, and should be able to talk when he feels like it.The next person who tells me what I can and cannot say will get the biggest middle finger this side of cantr island

So I guess I`m asking what gives these people the right to break character to tell me they don`t like "real world" words, when this is all they use.

Basically, some words have been used long enough that the people of Cantr know about them. I'm guessing you're the one who mentioned communism, so basically, as en example, it'd be best to refer to that as what it was meant to be, and then giving it the name, "communism" or perhaps you could even come up with a name. Pretty much "Democracy" wasn't even much of a known word until people started spreading the idea around. Also, some people may just be hypocritical jerks and you have to learn to deal with them.

If you keep getting OOC comments from other players, please send a mail to players@cantr.net, or directly to me using thomas@cantr.net.

We have a message to all players about OOC talking, and there's a reason for it.

If you feel that you have done nothing wrong, it's also a good approach, to shortly state OOCly, that the players in question should address the PD as well. When you have done that, just ignore the OOC comments of those players.

It was my character as well as another person character (whom I'm not going to name because he might not want people to know who said that to you), JherodJ. What we were trying to tell you was that you were putting too much information you know from the real world into your character.
People in Quillanoi came up with the term democracy to describe its government. Much of the time it was not a democracy (ie. Mayor Thistlethwaite and Mayor Firecam).
The same goes with Senator. Senator in the real world is someone part of a senate but in Quillanoi it is someone who is like a judge.

You could've said that "I think people should share and do work for the benefit of their fellow citizens and I will call it 'Communism'" but your character was talking about it as if it already existed. Catch what I mean?

Do your characters speak englisgh? mine do,I assume they know most of the words in the dictionary.communism from the root word commune which means a collective of beings who share all things equally or where resources are distributed equally or where most needed for the benifit of all as opposed to the few.

Now can I not use the word commune in game? How about the word religion?which is a word that is its own base and has many definitions.
So when I start having to learn to talk in cantr(probaly not any RL language either)Thats when I`ll quit inserting Ideas from RL,in the meantime that is what you have ALL done. Why am I not allowed too?

How do I say this the way I truly feel? Ah yes!!!

Piss off.

P.S it`s common knowledge Johnathan Russell is Jos and it changes nothing.

indeed it does change nothing knowing that Jos is Russell, except we get an extra sense of satisfaction out of sabataging his democratic plans

Communism is a liberal socialistic ideal created by Lenin that is an offbeat of Marxism. Am I wrong? I don't think so. There is probably another definition there that describes that if not then the dictionary probably doesn't put in historic events or left that part out for one reason or another.

And I don't know what I said or did to you to piss you off but I'm not doing this as to be a jack ass. I'm trying explain it to you but you're just be an asshole about it.

lol@solfius

Im not trying to be an asshole I~m trying to do what you all have done.
namely implant an original character somewhere who can have lengthy and intelligent conversations.

Your correct on the origins of communism, that it started with lenin if anything communism is lenin`s interpretation of marxism.
but under stalin and communist china it became a form of government.
republicanism is not a government it is an ideal a republic is so perhaps i should have described it as simply commune?

ooooh, major disagree.

How can an ideal become a form of government under which the aformentioned ideal is not upheld? Surely then it becomes a different form of government not related to the original concept? eg Stalin's so called "communism" that resembles more accurately governmental capatalism?

i think calling it a commune would be better, as also it would avoide preconceptions caused by people like stalin

i would really like to know how to make steel. i know i should ask in game chars, and i have, they just wont tell me. i know some know how, cuz ive seen them with things that require steel to make. and if that was the real world, someone would be nice enough to tell me, but its not, so theyre not. i cant make a hammer, so i cant make an axe. i cant make a sword or pickaxe, theres lots i cant make without steel. if anyone will tell me, will you please include all the things it requires to make steel? thanks to anyone who answers. :)
