I was browsing the web and decided to look up reviews of Cantr and see what I can find here are some;

Let me just put this in a simple Cons, Pros format:

Pros:
Deep Game with more than just slicing up people

You can make a difference in how the game runs, very high custimazation possible, very little is programmed This is the main thing I like about this game, your imagination is the limit

Doesnt take up a a lot of time playing

Active Forums

Cons:
Too slow paced for many people, a meeting could take a real life week or more

Trusts too much in people, too easy to use OOC information for a game advantage

Chance of death when logged off by being attacked and such

Server a little too slow

Hard for some people to grasp the idea of no monentary unit

Like games that get your blood pumping? Enjoy stepping into a tavern and buying some food before setting out on a grand and exciting adventure?

Then don't play this game.

You want to not starve? Spend a day, in real life time, digging potatoes out of the ground. Want to get some gear, some simple leather armour and maybe a bow? Forget about it. Go beat up that cow, you'll kill it with your bare fist in about a week and a half, then you can make club out of bone, then make a needle and start sewing yourself a loincloth.

Want some money? There isn't any. Anywhere.

If you want to struggle to wrest your survival from the earth, this is your game. There are no NPCs, no monsters, just other players, some animals, and the dirt. Getting a question answer often takes around 3 days. You might try being a servant or slave to the most arrongant person in your town, it might keep you fed.

Oh, and it's against the rules to know that an axe can cut wood.

Great game. Especially for those who don't like to be restricted.

That second one is my all time favorite. It keeps people out of the game who wouldn't like it and will just spend their time creating havoc and annoying other chars for a few days until they get bored and quit.

It's really an amazing game, with endless posibilities allowing you to really do ANYTHING you ever dreamed of. The sign-up process fast done fast and as in any game this complex it takes some time (around 2 weeks for me) to get into it and really start enjoying it, but trust me, those 2 weeks of wondering where more than worth it! Try it out!

First of all, this game is text based, which can definally NOT compare with graal,
but that doesnt stop me from playing, since some other good games I played are text based,
But it takes at least a week or two after the sign up until you are actually IN.
And then i checked the game, nothing special really, something you can play in other games. A waste of time :/

I have been a player of Cantr II for almost 6 months now. I am hopelessly addicted. I enjoy all the comical things that happen in Cantr and playing the chivalrous man who rides into the night after the thief. As a player I notice that your characters can cause you much worry while your AFK...

What I like best is the interactivity with the fellow characters. What will be their reaction to your action? Playing gets extremely funny when abnormals things happen: at night a thieve arrives and steels eveything there is to steel. Then he sails away on his ship. At dawn the citizens see what has happened and all armed men sail after him. It must be great playing the thief or other bad characters, and although your own character gets hurt because of them, you (as player) are both frustrated and amused about the things other players do with their characters
