Any suggestions? Who are they, where are they from and what do they do that makes them weird?

Purple Tortoise, I haven't seen any others that could really count.

My vote goes for her, too.

Just to put someone else in contention, but how about Lunatic Larry? I have never actually seen him in game, but I have seen a note warning travellers away from the Church of the Insane, and I have heard mentions of him in the boards, Yahoo and here. He sounds pretty messed up though. Just who was he, anyway? I don't think it would hurt to do an in-depth analysis of his life, since he is already .

Larry was my char (one of my favorite actually), but he got wacked in an ambush sent by the Pok council, seems he talked to much s**t about the Aaardvark and they decided he wouldn't make a good neighbor. He just hung out in the mountains ranting about the Mad Planet Aaardvark, building the church, and planning to take over the world...but alas he fell short...I wouldn't name by own char on something like this anyway, but I actually think Purple was weirder then Larry.

Purple definitely talks pretty oddly, but you couldn't say she is insane in the way that Lunatic Larry was. (Or maybe she just has more tact in hiding her insanity.) The body count is more frightening and horrific than weird, in my opinion.

Oh, she was insane alright. That is why the people in Tircqi took pity on her and allowed her to live after her first outburst. She was definitely insane.

And still is insane, if she is at all. I don't believe I was around during her 'first outburst', so I guess I can't form a full opinion of her.

Are there any characters who were stable individuals but have become insane during their lives, as opposed to being founded in the principles of insanity?

That is a good question.
Which I don't know the answer to.

One of mine is like that; his name is Valan Crockett. He was a criminal from Naron, before it was taken over by the Empire of Ladvicitavoi (now known as the Alexian Empire). He was chased out of Naron into the Naron Desert where he kept traveling. If you know anything about the Naron Desert and Knatr Desert, the place is huge. It takes at least three months (real time) to get through the deserts to the mountains and eventually to Knatr where no one lives. He survived going through the desert and the mountains and the experience has left him quite warped. Anyone that happens into the desert or mountains, he usually kills, or if he can't, he will babble on about stuff until the traveler takes pity upon him and leaves him alone. Currently he resides in the abandoned town of Knatr but is often traveling through the mountains and desert, pouncing upon unsuspecting travelers.

Oh yeah, he is also my oldest character, so I have had lots of time to develop his personality. Lets just say, he is a very twisted individual.
But he isn't very well known and he has forgotten his name so he can't really tell people he isn't able to kill. He also babbles on and while traveling through the mountains and deserts, he sings a song haunting song of his travel through the desert. Usually, it is the last thing his victims hear.

Now, she's probably not as weird as Purple, from what I've seen, and not crazy...but definitely a strange one to consider...Jenna Lyle in Brunoi. She's silent a lot, but when she does speak, you end up all

-like for a few minutes.

as for weird characters, what about that one lady in Quillanoi, who was looking for her bunny...she put some notes down telling everyone to look for her bunny...
