I was just wondering how many characters have you had killed/starved/decapetaded/ect.?

Personally I haven't had a single one of mine die. Although I have had several close calls.

Hmm well I meant to have an 11+, but I guess there is a limit to choices.

I've had 5 characters die.

Falkirk Corla by Maynard Leeward and Craktar and their goons in Krif.

Tyuil Juiad by one of Craktar's goons

Zak DoUrden by Alexi Romanov and his Imperial Guard.

Hadden Retoul by the Clan MacGregor

Thomas Covenant half starved by someone in Tircqi. I think it was Erin Yest and her people but I don't have the e-mail of the character's death anymore to look it up.

The length of play would be a factor outside of the style of play.

I have been playing a little over a year now. I know some players have lost over 20 characters but I'm unsure how long they have been playing.

Well I've only been playing for about 3 months, but keeping all 15 characters for 3 months is pretty good in my opinion.

Let's see:
I've been playing for about a year and I've lost several...there was a period about 10 months ago when I couldn't access the site

Chase Kiros to the Alenz Hills Mining Company
Westerly Borne to starvation
some girl to Lad or Blojt inactive sweeps
RTS Zheng to Nathan Holmes' goons. (although Elanor Roi tried to tell others it was Gregor Mac Gregor...ironic if it was)
And a few others I can't remember...
plus 10 to involuntary insubscription.
I'd name names but since they weren't really killed it doesn't count, does it?

Fraci Pharrell, I really liked her name, and the person she was becoming, she was killed by bandits.

Joe Hill, he stood for peace but was born in Lad, so he moved then was killed just outside of that area.

Stancy Love, born in Lad, she only lived a few days. It was my fault though. Before, when i'd get a character in Lad I'd panic and have them take off or join up with someone they weren't supposed to or something, lol, that was a long time ago though.

I've requested a turn report sometime recently, so I can't remember all my dead character's names...most of them died due to negligence...although I remember this one lady who came into a town with nobody in it, and declared herself queen, than some random guy came and got mad at her, I accidentally started saying stuff like u instead of you and r instead of are, so he got mad and chased me, and somehow found me and killed me....that's one of my lamer characters, but I am still mad at that guy for killing me for an ooc thing....

I've had quite a few die, but none of them were ones I wanted to keep, or had any plans for.

A few of mine have died. But none of any importance or that I particularly liked.........until a few days ago. Trevor Giles was killed. I liked Trevor, he was a good soul.

Out of the total of 25 chars that I've made 15 are dead, but only three were killed by someone other the me. Most died because I had to many well known chars and couldn't keep up with them all. Of the three that were killed they all died in ambushes without a chance to react, Lunatic Larry, Xaver Linx and another that I don't remember the name of.

Only one, Stark Manly.
Total waste of space and lazy as hell.
Cornered by some lunatic bandit in Xiria Seaside, he decided to write his thoughts down on how he had wasted his life, and how laziness had been his downfall.
He started planning out a very long letter about this as he lay dying, about how he suddenly realised what life was all about, and wanted to share his thoughts with people after his death.
Then laziness took over, and he was killed before he could start the letter.

Sad thing was, the database went back a month and he found himself alive on the beach again, realises he can start writing his letter about how people shouldn't be so lazy, decides to do it tomorrow and is promptly killed again.

That sounds like a Douglas Adams plot.
