Dynamic location naming

Has anyone noticed this? Everything still has the same name...but now you can change it.
I've got to wonder how much difference it makes, since it seems that everything, even things you haven't seen before, come with their original names...and (assuming the renaming is personal) no one will see if you change it...
Or maybe this is just a first draft I'm seeing?
And one point...if you take away the built-in consensus names at some point...mapmakers are going to have an interesting time of it. Will they have to number the roads?
